One of the recent constants ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers have mentioned a few times is the questionable writing the new team has brought to the show.

We all hoped the change would be a good thing, but the beginning of their run seems more like a soft reboot as they’ve changed characters like Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) on a fundamental level.

Both have turned on Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) hard core since they and everyone else are paragons of virtue and they never knew what a mob boss did before.

Laura even forgot her daughter is in a coma thanks to Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober)’s bomb while she’s championing for him to seek justice against Sonny.

These and more have caused a majority of fans to want the old writers back, or in our case the replacement writers.

So, it’s no surprise the show seems to switch on the PR machine to prop their writers up.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Eden McCoy speaks out

Eden McCoy (Josslyn Jacks) recently appeared on the Daily Drama podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli) and she talked about adulting and the talk came to the new writers and their scripts.

She explained how the new writers wanted a fresh start by breaking up the current couples like Joss and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) and they probably would’ve done the same with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez).

She and Burton talked about how everyone’s excited for the new scripts because they don’t know what’s going to happen next.

It sounds like a soft reboot to us, and when Burton said how he can’t name them, but older cast members claim they haven’t been this excited to see a script since the 90s there’s a few ways to take that.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Lost in space

It’s no surprise they’d be excited to see what’s going to happen next because the writers changed the history of the show for several characters so there’s no telling what’s coming.

It’s pretty much like throwing pasta on the wall to see what sticks with so much changing, and it seems to ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers that’s why it seems fresh, not so much the storytelling.

At least from our point of view and that of fans in general.

This comes across as genuine, but also as a way to prop the writers up with so many wanting the old team back.

At this point, they’ve done some serious damage to characters and their history, and it feels like a failed experiment.

Something new and fresh is good, as long as they stay true to the characters and the previous storylines.

What do you think about the new direction of the characters? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
