‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers have had conflicting feelings on the storyline with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) being “killed off” for the next month, and it looks like we’re not the only ones.

While we’ve mentioned lazy writing a few times, the weekly spoiler video has a few fans calling the show out for that in the comments, and it’s mostly centered on yet another presumed death that wasn’t needed and isn’t necessary.

There’s been a sharp decline in pacing and quality since the old writer came back to reclaim their positions from the replacement writers, and fans have noticed.

Aside from a couple of flashes here and there, it’s felt more like an AI run show than now with the lack of direction and human element to pull things together and in the same direction.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Spencer and Nikolas storyline is a symptom

The sudden and idiotic move Spencer made by giving Ace to Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) was the triggering event that sent Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) over the edge.

She was trying to walk a line, but the happened and it went south from there.

Given the timing, it comes across as a quick, easy, and lazy way to write everyone off as Esme’s actress left the show with her contract ending and Spencer’s actor is off for a month to film a movie.

But it’s the way the whole thing was done that set fans off, and ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers are in complete agreement with them.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Should’ve been handled differently

First of all, having another presumed death wasn’t needed. They could’ve found Spencer and he’d be in a coma, or he could’ve gone with Trina to school and he was off camera during her scenes.

Esme could’ve taken off to search for Nikolas and her baby, and that could’ve been a storyline where everyone’s on edge when Nikolas came back as they’d expect her to follow, but something could’ve happened to her.

Maybe Nikolas paid someone to hold her on Cassadine Island like he planned when he held her at Wyndemere and so on.

There are so many possibilities, but they chose a possible drowning and closed the book fast. Spencer is even getting a rushed funeral to heighten emotions while Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) didn’t.

There’s so much disconnect between the writers and fans it leaves little doubt as to why the show brought in new head writers.

What do you think about another presumed death storyline? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
