General Hospital spoilers are happy to report that Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) is back! Most of you remember Hayden, she came and left a couple of seasons ago in Port Charles, but she made quite an impact in her short time there. In 2015 she came on as a con artist and the wife of Jake Doe who turned out to be Jason Morgan who actually turned out to be his twin brother, Drew Caine! It was all a scheme by Ric Lansing to keep “Jason Morgan” (AKA: Drew Caine) away from Elizabeth Webber so that he could have her all to himself. Anybody else confused yet? Here’s what you need to know.
General Hospital Spoilers: Rebecca Budig Is Back! Hayden Barnes’ Return To Port Charles Brings Huge Implications
Either way the scheme got exposed at the nurse’s ball. When she tried to blackmail Nikolaus he encouraged her to tell the truth, but when she showed up at Jake’s workplace, she got shot in the head by some unknown assailant. The fingers ended up pointing at Shawn Butler, but as it turns out the man was actually sent by Nikolas! She fell into a coma and stayed that way for months and when she awoke she didn’t remember anything. Ric Lansing wanted to keep it that way but as luck would have it, her memories returned and with it, so did the truth about Jason—I mean Drew’s identity.
During this time, Hayden started working for Tracy Quartermaine and then started seeing Nikolas and she even bonded with his young son, Spencer. At one point they even ended up getting married in Vegas! But Nikolas demanded a divorce when he found out that his wife was the con artist of all con artists! Hayden’s ‘real name was Rachel Berlin and she was the daughter of a famous banker who had swindled his clients for billions, however Hayden still had him on the hook because she threatened to tell everyone that he tried to have her killed if he went through with the divorce, yike! It was also revealed that Hayden’s Mom was actually had an affair with Jeff Webber back in the day, essentially making her Elizbeth’s sister.
Hayden eventually found herself in the arms of Dr Hamilton Finn, whom she helped with a drug problem, and together they found a cure for the disease that was killing them both. They started a relationship, but both were unprepared for the news that Hayden was now pregnant. Hayden was worried that she wasn’t ready to become a Mom. After thwarting Leisl Obrecht’s scheme to have Finn fired, they were both targeted.
Leisl did something absolutely dastardly and hired Hayden’s ex-husband Jared, who had previously gone to jail for protecting Hayden after she had drunkenly hit a girl who was out walking her dog. He tried to extort money out of Hayden in exchange for keeping silent, but Hayden came clean to Finn herself, and he still wanted to marry her. But on their wedding day Hayden pulled a vanishing act and up and left poor Finn desperate for answers. By the time he did manage to track her down he learned that she was in Paris and according to her, had lost their baby, but that was a lie. Later on she had asked him to come visit her in Paris, but by then he had moved on to being with Anna, so he declined to come meet with her.

Now he’s wondering what she’s doing and we can all wonder what that’s going to mean for the Anna/Finn dynamic. Since she was still visibly pregnant the last time we saw her its very probable that she has given birth to Finn’s child and may be bringing it along with her back to Port Charles in order to meet Daddy. Poor Anna isn’t going to know what hit her, she’s already commitment-phobic enough as it is, she doesn’t need much in order to jump ship! What will this mean for Anna and Finn’s own impending engagement/marriage? Stay tuned!!!
