‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that Eddie Maine (Wally Kurth) is out, and Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) is back as Ned’s memory returns. It’s about time!
Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) could only stir his memories long enough for him to remember that he married her and they were together on the Brooklyn Bridge. Lois in her elegant wedding dress and Eddie in his dapper “monkey suit.”
It was a lot for Eddie to process, and he ran out of the room to return to his music. According to Eddie, he doesn’t care to remember his past or who he really is, but we see that he is coming closer and closer to it.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: “Eddie” Can’t Move Forward
Eddie has been having difficulty finishing his song, and his being stuck on it is a metaphor for what he feels like in his life. He really can’t move forward because he’s trapped in limbo.
Lois has been making an honest effort to get Eddie to remember, but if Ned wants to be Eddie, there is only so much she can do. She’s trying not to push too hard.
GH spoilers indicate that Ned will be involved in an accident, and Soap Opera Digest reports that it will “have major implications for his future.”
Ned’s memory is about to return in “dramatic fashion.” It has been months since Ned had his accident at the Metro Court pool that turned him into Eddie Maine.
When Lois had first returned to town and started trying to jolt his senses, he seemed noticeably perturbed. He grew frustrated and didn’t want to be around her.
We had hoped that the return of Lois for “Eddie” would mean that the show would reignite the spark and fire that was Ned and Lois, the massively popular super couple from the 90s.
Ned and Lois Are “Never Ever Getting Back Together”
Alas, Rena Sofer recently reported that she would NEVER play that story again. Rena Sofer and Wallace Kurth were once married and shared a daughter, Rosabel Rosalind Kurth.
Now, the two actors have moved on. Kurth has been married to Debra Yuhasz since 2003. Sofer is also married to Sanford Bookstaver, whom she first married in 2003.
The two share a daughter, Avalon Leone Bookstaver, born in 2005. The couple divorced in 2017. They reconciled and were married a second time in 2019. Sofer and Bookstaver are still together now.
Rena believes it would be cruel to their other spouses for her and Wally to have a romantic relationship on-screen since they were once married to each other.
If Eddie Maine cannot continue his love story with Lois, there isn’t much point for Ned to be Eddie. It’s sad for Ned and Lois fans, but Ned does have a wife, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero).
Eddie is still Eddie right now, so what’s a soap to do? Of course, another accident will jog his memory and love for Olivia, not to mention his daughter, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton).
Once Ned’s memories return, guess what? He gets to expose the truth about Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), so at least there’s that. If Ned and Lois can’t get back together, it’s GH’s second-best scenario!
