‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that Kate Mansi, who plays Kristina Corinthos-Davis on General Hospital and formerly Abigail DiMera on Days of Our Lives, married her longtime partner, Matt McInnis, over the weekend.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Mansi Is Starting A New Chapter In Her Life
According to Soap Opera Digest,
“This is the second marriage for Mansi, who previously tied the knot in an intimate ceremony during the COVID-19 lockdown.”
Apparently, the couple was supposed to have a larger wedding with family and friends. However, this never happened, as Mansi’s ex-husband suddenly asked her for a divorce.
She met her former husband in the commissary while working at Days of Our Lives, where she was part of the uber-popular supercouple “Chabby” with Billy Flynn, who played Chad DiMera.
Mansi believed her relationship would last and never imagined the heartbreak she would experience ahead. “It wasn’t meant to be,” she admitted.
Mansi was understandably devastated that their marriage crumbled. The actress opened up about it to fellow GH actor Maurice Benard. He plays her TV mob boss father, Sonny Corinthos, on the popular podcast State of Mind.
Mansi said she was in a state of disbelief. She was blindsided by the person she had expected to spend the rest of her life with.
She went through the gamut of emotions from anger to sadness and every other negative feeling possible. Mansi embarked on a journey of self-discovery, taking it as a life lesson she could learn from, and she grew into a much stronger person because of it.
Now, Mansi is grateful for that heartbreak. It led her down another path to meet McInnis and start a much happier new chapter in her life.
“In that moment, there was so much peace and so much freedom. ‘No one’s coming to save me. I’ve got to pick myself up from this.’ And that was the first moment of me really reclaiming myself.”
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Mansi Announced Her Engagement To McInnes In July
Mansi first announced her engagement in July by posting a photo of her stunning engagement ring and some other pictures of her and McInnes. She could barely contain her excitement.
A few weeks ago, Mansi even posted snaps of herself and McInnes, asking,
“Is it July yet?” Can’t wait to marry you.”
The couple moved up their original wedding date and, instead, decided to marry sooner rather than later.
They couldn’t wait to start their new life together as husband and wife. They had been in a serious relationship since last summer, as they shared several fun photos of their African safari and a visit to see his family on the East Coast. The pair share an adorable fur child, who is a golden doodle pup named Stanley.
Her TV sister, Kristen Vaganos, who plays Molly Lansing-Davis, shared a selfie with the beautiful bride wearing her wedding gown.
In Mansi’s Instagram stories, she simply wrote this of her man, “For the record, I knew,” with a winky face smiley emoji.
We are thrilled that Mansi has found the person who was made for her, and we congratulate her and her new husband on their union.
