Today was an interesting one for ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers as it looks like Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) may be leaving the show.
There haven’t been any official announcements made, so this could just be the writers writing her off for maternity leave.
It’s not surprising given she could be out for a few months depending on how things go, and having her head to Austin, Texas is a great way to keep her in the mix for future episodes while having her off screen.
Of course, this complicates things as she’s leaving behind her closest friends as well as a potential love interest.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Clean slate
If we had any doubts of her leaving for a while they were put to rest when Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) paid her a visit to inform her they found a new Face of Deception, effectively firing her.
Or laying her off, giving her leave, whatever phrasing works.
It seemed odd to “General Hospital” Spoilers that Maxie seemed fully onboard with replacing Sasha with Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) and only voiced her concerns after she and Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) agreed on principle with Blaze.
Of course, that’s not a guarantee for reasons we’ll get into in another article.
They obviously wanted to give Sasha time to heal, but as Lucy said it’s about giving the company a fresh start. Assuming Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) is onboard with the decision.
But Maxie didn’t tell Sasha about this, and we have to wonder is it’s because Maxie doesn’t want to kick her when she’s trying to get back up.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: the Cody factor
“General Hospital” Spoilers are feeling for Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) as he once again finds someone he likes and is growing close to and they leave.
Granted, we doubt Sasha will be killed off like Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) was, but it still has to hurt for him to keep losing people like this.
There is a chance he could decide to go with her if she’s willing to have the company, but we expect this will be a solo trip for herself like she said. She wants to start fresh with new people in her life and get things righted.
She could also decide to stay at the last minute, but again with her being removed as the Face of Deception, there’s nothing but personal ties holding her there and we expect she’s going to get a good send off from Maxie and even Cody will offer some words of encouragement and comfort.
