‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) may be ready to say goodbye to Port Charles. Not to mention, Watros left a very cryptic tweet on X (formerly known as Twitter):
“I love you, my Sona/Niva peeps. Loved every minute of this journey.”
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Nina’s Marriage to Sonny Is Over
The tweet could just be referring to the fact that Nina’s marriage to mob boss Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is over. However, is there more to it than that?
Nina has lost so much over the past few months. Her husband, Sonny, divorced her. Her daughter, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), has disowned her.
She was tricked into selling half of the Metro Court by her so-called “bestie,” Ava Jerome (Maura West), only to find out that Ava isn’t such a good friend.
The only person whom Nina felt close enough to confide in was Ava. She’s finally realized that Ava has an agenda: to have Sonny all to herself.
Years ago, Ava had an affair with Nina’s husband, Silas Clay (Michael Easton), and as a result, Nina wanted what Nina always wants: payback.
Nina is no saint, though. A few years ago, she drugged Ava and forced her into labor. She cut Avery Jerome-Corinthos (Ava Scarola) out of Ava’s stomach, and after she was born, she stole Ava’s daughter away from her to get revenge.
That being said, it seemed like the two women forgave each other for their respective wrongdoings, but the past rears its ugly head again, as Ava now appears to want Sonny.
And while she’s back to running Crimson, she’s still not a welcome member of her family, which stings. Willow made it clear she wanted nothing to do with her and would probably be reluctant to have Nina visit with her grandchildren.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: “Living Well Is the Best Revenge”
Nina’s having an office affair with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), but it’s unlikely that this will lead to any sort of romantic relationship.
There’s a lot of bad blood between them, as Nina is why Drew went to prison to save Carly Spencer (Laura Wright). However, for Nina, Drew was just collateral damage. It was Carly whom Nina really wanted to hurt.
If Nina hadn’t been so focused on “getting even” with Carly, she would have her husband, daughter, and, most likely, her best friend. She would still have her life.
She is not an inherently evil person, but she makes poor choices. She never learns from her mistakes. She doesn’t seem to understand the expression “living well is the best revenge.”
The problem is that Nina scorches the earth when she gets revenge on others. She wanted Sonny and got him, but that wasn’t enough for her. She tried to hurt Carly for not telling her Willow was her daughter.
She should have also waited until Willow was comfortable to pursue a relationship with her daughter. When she alerted the SEC, Willow wasn’t ready to accept Nina as her mother.
Nina is pretty much the town pariah after what she did to Drew and Carly. No one could blame her if she cut her losses and left town.
