‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveals that the dragon lady, Tracy Quartermain (Jane Elliott), has a hidden soft spot after all.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Nothing but Sharp Edges
Whenever Tracy Quartermaine appears, everyone seems to cringe a little bit. The woman is sharp, direct, and void of all compassion. She doesn’t seem to really have an ounce of feeling for anyone.
After Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) threatens to blackmail her in regard to her son Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth), Ned ends up tripping and hitting his head. He falls in the pool and almost dies.
Drew pulls him out and gives him CPR until the paramedics arrive. Even though Drew believes that Ned is the one who turned him into the SEC, he still dives into rescue him.
After the authorities arrive, Tracy demands that they arrest Drew for attacking Ned. She doesn’t have any compassion for Drew or any gratefulness that he saved her son.
She goes on the offensive, trying to get him back. When security footage proves that she was lying, she doesn’t really apologize or act contrite in any way.
As her son struggles in the ER and his wife, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero), is distraught, Tracy doesn’t collapse or wither. It is hard for her to react compassionately to Olivia.
She doesn’t comfort others well, but that’s not really possible when you have no feelings of your own. She never sheds a tear and seems to be more of the mindset that Ned should just “snap out of it.”
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Little Glimpse of Softness
The only little peek of softness came when Tracy tried to help her grandson, Leo Quartermaine (Easton Rocket Sweda), understand why Ned says that he is not Leo’s father. She tells him that she will be honest with him.
Tracy explains that Ned thinks he is someone else and doesn’t recognize his family. She admits that this hurts her feelings too, which is a surprising admission.
She encourages Leo that they will continue to be there for Ned and will help him. He is still Ned’s son, even though Ned is having this difficulty right now. She is helpful to Leo in a way that we rarely see.
Tracy even gives him a hug at the end of the conversation. Has Leo succeeded in helping Tracy change a little bit? Is she actually having feelings of compassion for someone else? What do you think? Share your thoughts below.
