‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers tease that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) has often been on the losing side when it comes to love. He lost two women he loved to his brother, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Drew Can’t Handle The Competition
The last time Jason was presumed dead, he lost Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) to Jason the minute the mob enforcer came back to town.
Now, Drew and his lady love, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), have split because Drew couldn’t handle the competition. He always felt inferior to Jason when it came to women.
Let’s face Drew is seeing green. That’s why it was so suspicious that he offered Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) her job back at Crimson. He offered her the same position that he replaced Nina with Carly all but ten minutes ago.
It was a strange scene as Drew, supposedly a man of honor, groveling back to Nina and giving her the job back.
Nina turned Drew and Carly into the SEC for insider trading, so what was Drew doing in Nina’s office? Did Drew ask her if she liked working at the Invader?
Perhaps Drew knows he can’t have Carly, and this calculated move is a way to get to her, get back at her, or get her attention.
Drew originally wanted revenge against Nina for blowing the whistle on him and Carly, especially since he went to prison to protect her.
So he ousted her from her cushy position as Editor and Chief of Crimson, only to turn around and make Carly the new editor and chief.
Now that Jason has returned, Drew doesn’t know what else to do. When Drew came into Nina’s office with this proposal, Nina thought it was funny. She assumed that Carly was the one who dumped Drew.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Drew May Be Trying To Punish Carly
Spoilers hint that Drew isn’t over Carly, and his decision to reinstate Nina as editor-in-chief has more to do with Carly than it is a solid business decision.
While it may be wise for Drew to give Nina back her old job, considering that she’s the reason Crimson rose to the top, it’s not the real reason he’s pulled a 180 on her.
He may be trying to send the message to Carly that’s crystal clear: he’d rather rehire Nina than put up with Carly’s special connection with Jason. Drew does not intend to compete with his twin brother because he knows he won’t win.
After all, Carly’s heart just wasn’t in it. She never wanted to run Crimson. She prefers to run Bobbie’s. Drew had to talk her into it.
Could Drew asking Nina if she wants to return to Crimson be a way to punish Carly for not being as jazzed as he was about Crimson?
Drew may have given it to her, partly to strike revenge on Nina, but he also wanted him and Carly to accomplish great things together. He saw it as something that would bring them closer.
Drew felt betrayed when Jason came home simply because he knew how Carly felt about him, and as long as Jason was around, he would always feel like the odd man out.
