‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest that Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) made a big mistake when he lashed out at Giovanni Palmeri (Giovanni Mazza) after Rocco Falconeri’s (Finn Carr) underage drinking fiasco.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Dante May Have Inherited Sonny’s Temper
We know Dante feared losing his son. Rocco was rushed to the hospital with alcohol poisoning. The situation was serious as Rocco could have lapsed into a coma or died.
However, Dante’s fury at Gio was misplaced, and his temper mirrored his father, Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) anger toward Dante when he found out he was an undercover cop about to take him down for organized crime.
The dimpled don didn’t hesitate to shoot Dante after uttering a chilling, “Goodbye, Detective.” Who could forget that pivotal moment in GH history when Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) ran into the room and shouted, “You just shot your own son!”
That scene was the stuff of legend as Sonny reacted with a puzzled, confused look on his face, and Olivia looked back at him in disgust.
Now that the tables are turned, Dante is livid with his own secret son, Gio. Dante has no idea that Gio is his firstborn son with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), but he’ll find out soon enough.
Obviously, Dante isn’t wielding a gun at Gio. However, his aggression toward Gio reminds us of how Sonny behaved toward Dante, as he was sneering at the dedicated cop before he pulled the trigger on him.
It’s still a mystery how Sonny and Dante have become so unbelievably close and trusting of each other, despite them being on opposite sides of the law.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Neither Dante Nor Gio Know They Are Father And Son
The situation with Dante and Gio is similar in that neither of them knows they are father and son. The two of them have already bonded without being aware of their familial ties.
However, that bond is now being tested. Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) found a drunk Rocco on the beach and ran to find Gio for help.
The two of them took him to the Quartermaine boathouse to sleep it off. However, when Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) walked in and saw Rocco passed out with a bucket and water bottle next to him, he immediately knew that Rocco had been drinking.
After Cody discovered Rocco’s breathing was shallow, he made sure Rocco got to the hospital in time. There was no way Gio could have known Rocco had alcohol poisoning, but Dante blamed Gio anyway and even accused him of giving Rocco the alcohol.
We all know Danny coerced Rocco to go to the party, but Gio seems like an easy target for Dante. He was terrified that his son wouldn’t pull through or at least have significant repercussions from the incident.
The doctor told Dante and Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Breuning) that Roco was lucky to be alive. At that point, Dante found it necessary to point the finger at Gio.
Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) fiercely stood up for Gio, but Dante wouldn’t shut up. Dante may not yet know who Gio is to him. However, when he learns the truth, he may wish he hadn’t been so hard on his kid.
