General Hospital Spoilers: Daniel Cosgrove (Ezra) Reflects on Iconic Daytime TV Journey

Cosgrove’s journey began with “All My Children,” where he portrayed Scott Chandler. He fondly recalled his early days on the show, emphasizing the invaluable education he received. “That was my first job ever,” he said. “What really stands out is the education that I got. I knew I was green, just starting off and learning the ropes.” He highlighted the opportunity to work alongside seasoned actors like David Canary and Julia Barr, appreciating the learning process and the diverse experience levels within the cast.

His time on “Guiding Light” was another pivotal chapter in his career. He returned to the show in 2007, a period he remembers with fondness despite its eventual cancellation. “In hindsight, I just think of everybody that I got to work with,” he shared. He spoke of the unique atmosphere of New York-based soaps and the camaraderie among the cast and crew. He also fondly recalled working with Matt Bomer and Nancy St. Alban, emphasizing the fun and playful environment on set.

Cosgrove also briefly appeared on “As the World Turns” as Chris Hughes, a role that came as the show was nearing its end. Despite the circumstances, he maintained a positive outlook, stating, “I don’t have one complaint about anyone or anything.” However, he acknowledged a sense of melancholy during that time, a feeling shared with his current “General Hospital” co-star, Van Hansis, who also appeared on “As the World Turns.” Cosgrove humorously recalled the unusual storyline of his character receiving a heart transplant from his boyfriend.

Throughout his reflections, Cosgrove consistently highlighted the importance of his colleagues and the unique environment of daytime television. His insights provide a glimpse into the fast-paced world of soap operas and the enduring bonds formed within the industry.
