‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers love nothing more than a good romance, and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton)’s relationship is getting ready for the next step thanks to some helpful nudges.
Well, helpful depends on one’s perspective. For Brook Lynn, we doubt Gloria Cerullo (Ellen Travolta) and Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer)’s input was helpful since it sent her into a near panic and she nearly choked on wine.
Brook Lynn cited her fear that it would send Chase running for the hills, but he’s shown no desire to fun and is comfortable enough to take a knee and ask Brook Lynn to marry him.
That’s a pretty cool twist and we’re all for it, but things aren’t going to be that easy and we expect Brook Lynn’s insecurities to take center stage in the coming episodes.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Hard sell
There’s no denying that Brook Lynn and Chase love each other, but while she was citing him being chased away by being tied to her family, there’s a possibility she’s projecting her own insecurities, but more on that in a minute.
The Quartermaines are many things and they make everyone’s life in Port Charles interesting to say the least, and ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers fully understand why Brook Lynn would be terrified of bringing Chase into the family more than he already is.
She doesn’t want him to become warped or corrupted like the rest of them and she’ll view it as her job to protect him from that fate.
It makes sense, but he sees what’s going on and is still all for it, so maybe there’s more?
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Breaking down the walls
While it’s easy to say Brook Lynn is insecure, it may not be actual insecurities. For her, she’s seen people come and go in the Quartermaines and she won’t want to risk losing Chase to the drama like so many in the family have lost their spouses.
For her, the best way to do that is to keep him separate as much as possible, and that’s going to be hard enough after he enjoyed meeting Gloria and Lois.
Granted, they are an exceptional pair, and Brook Lynn is definitely part of that bloodline and is as tough and formidable as either woman. But her weakness is losing Chase.
After losing her singing career and struggling to come back from that, it’s understandable she doesn’t want to risk losing him too, and they’ll try to sell each other on why they’re right.
In the end, we think Chase will win her over, but he’s going to have to work for it.
