In one of the gutsiest and dumbest moves ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers have seen in a while, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) put Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) in a very difficult spot and asked her to choose between honoring her mom and a future with him.
This isn’t really a surprise to us since he was willing to give up his daughter’s legacy and economic future to bail Carly out of trouble without a second’s worth of hesitation.
Add in how he runs to Carly instead of his daughter when he gets out of prison or comes home tells us all we need to know about him, and don’t get us started on him feeling adequate to criticize someone else’s parenting.
And Carly continues to enable him, which surprised us after she asked him what about Bobbie’s.
We think it’s setting one or both of them up for a big fall, and maybe, just maybe, this time Carly won’t be caught by a golden parachute.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Difficult choice
While ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers would like to think choosing to run a magazine and then choosing between that and Bobbie’s seems like a no brainer. She’d pick Bobbie’s.
Or maybe not since she agreed to give running both a chance before making her decision.
Bobbie’s was given to Carly to help her after she lost the Metro Court on her own and then refused to accept it as a free gift from Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) in a lazy writing moment.
Insetad of having Carly work and lift herself up and rebuild in an epic storyline, they took the easy way out and now it’s going to surprise us if Carly struggles more than a couple of twitches.
Ee have to admit if she gives up Bobbie’s that will be a shock and we don’t see that happening. But then she may not have a choice.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Overmatched
It’s good Carly and Drew enjoyed their victory over Nina, because there’s no way it should last. Not only is it highly likely Crimson will fail given Carly’s lack of experience and being torn between both businesses, but Nina has an ace up her sleeve.
Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) has been quiet lately as she’s been licking his wounds after betraying Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), but he’s going to offer his help to Nina, and he outclasses Drew and Carly when it comes to business.
And since he’s still running ELQ since there’s been no meeting called, he may broker a deal with Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) to open their own magazine under Nina’s leadership. It’ll be a hard sell, but possible.
Then there’s the wild card in Leisl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), and if she gets involved things are going to go from bad to worse since she’ll have no problems going right at Drew and Carly.
This isn’t a fight Drew and Carly can win, and in the end Drew could lose Aurora and Carly will have to stay with Bobbies. Or there’s the possibility that Valentin and Nina purchase the land Bobbie’s is on and become Carly’s landlord. That’ll go over well.
Will Carly be able to pull away before Drew sinks her or is she too into him? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
