    ‘General Hospital’: New Tragic Details Emerge About Billy Miller’s Death

    Billy Miller, who played Billy Abbot on The Young and the Restless, and Drew Cain and Jason Morgan on ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers and died on September 15th at age 43. Just two days shy of his 44th birthday.

    Sadly, it has been ruled that he died by suicide from a fatal shotgun wound. Multiple letters at the scene conveyed that he was planning on killing himself.

    First responders discovered that the revolver he used was chambered for .410  shotgun shells, and the gun was found in his right hand. According to reports, Miller had a long history of bipolar depression and was found dead in the bathtub of his home in Austin, Texas.

    The report also showed that there were numerous drugs in his system. The toxicology report stated that there was the presence of ethanol (alcohol), cocaine, diphenhydramine, and amphetamine in his system.

    Patricia Miller, Billy’s mother, told Soap Opera Digest days after his death: “He fought a long, hard, courageous battle with bipolar depression for years. He did everything he could to control the disease.

    Patricia said that her son “loved his family, his friends, and his fans, but in the end, the disease won the fight, and he surrendered his life.”

    Billy’s mother continued, “We all loved him so much and are desperately trying to deal with our loss. I will have nothing further to say.”

    Billy Miller played Ritchie Novak on “All My Children” from 2007 to 2008.

    He got his big break playing Billy Abbot on Y&R from 2008 to 2014. Miller won three Emmy awards for his work on the soap—one for Outstanding Lead Performer and two for Outstanding Supporting Performer.

    Miller played Drew Cain and Jason Morgan on GH from 2014 to 2019. He was much loved for his portrayal of these iconic characters.

    Billy played Harvey Spector’s brother, Marcus Spector, on “Suits” for five episodes.

    Miller was a fan favorite, a gifted actor, and a kind human being. He battled for years with mental health issues.

    Billy Miller’s death presents a chance to talk about the prevalence of suicide. It’s a very difficult topic, but it needs to be addressed so people can get help and heal.

    In the United States, suicide is the leading cause of death. It is a mental health crisis, and statistics show that 49,449 Americans took their lives last year in 2022.

    Statistics also show that 80 percent of all suicides are men, and firearms are used in over half of all suicides.
