‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Congratulations to GH alum Kristen Alderson, who is pregnant. Alderson played the first Kiki Jerome on General Hospital from 2012 to 2015; before that, she played Starr Manning on the now-defunct One Life to Live from 1998 to 2011.
Kristen and her fiancée, Taylor Crousore, are expecting their first child, a baby girl, in January 2024. Kristen shared with Soap Opera Digest that she and Taylor started trying to have a baby in April of this year.
She thought it would take some time to be successful, but Kristen found out she was pregnant in May. It was a big surprise for both of them.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Kristen’s Reaction to Her Pregnancy
The couple announced the pregnancy on Twitch and shared a beautiful video of Kristen when she first discovered she was having a little bundle of joy.
The video starts by showing Kristen taking an at-home pregnancy test. She explained that she took a pregnancy test that showed a faint line for pregnant.
She wasn’t entirely convinced since she had heard that home pregnancy tests can sometimes come up with a false positive. Kristen purchased another test and took it when she got home from work at midnight.
She was filming her first movie and had major crying scenes. She took the pregnancy test, and it turned out positive for pregnancy. Cue real tears of joy!
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Fellow Soap Stars Share Congrats on Kristen’s Instagram
When the wonderful news came out about Kristen’s pregnancy, her fellow soap star friends and family took to social media to give heartfelt congratulations to the ecstatic Mommy-to-be.
Bradford Anderson, who plays Damian Spinelli on ‘General Hospital,’ expressed his happiness with heart emojis, and so did Michelle Stafford, who plays Phyllis Summers on The Young & the Restless.
Brittany Underwood, who played alongside Kristen on One Life to Live as Langston Wilde, sent a message that exclaimed, “My favorite thing to happen in life right now. Can she just be here already?”
Missy Claire Egan, who plays Chelsea Lawson on The Young & the Restless, said,
“Omg, sooo excited for you!!!!”
Gina Tognoni, who played Kelly Cramer on One Life to Live, said,
“Blessing, Blessing. You are going to be an incredible Mommy. Congratulations to you both!!!”
Jen Lilley, who played Theresa Donovan on Days of Our Lives, said,
“Ahhhh!!!! Congrats!!!! It’s the best, best, best!!!!”
Melissa Archer, who played Natalie Buchanan on One Life to Live, said,
“Omg!! So happy for you!!”
So many actors in the soap community sent congratulations to Kristen and Taylor. Kristen’s baby girl will have so many people who love her to welcome her into the world.
Taylor proposed to Kristen at Pier 84 at Hudson River Park in New York in July this year. The two officially became engaged.
The proposal was perfectly timed for the happy couple’s gender reveal. On Kristen’s Instagram page, she says,
“To say that we are excited, beyond grateful, and living on cloud 9 is an understatement! This has been the most exciting year of our lives.”
Kristen and Taylor are over the moon and are very excited about becoming parents and are looking forward to starting a family.
