‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers and ‘Days of Our Lives’ actor Steve Burton plays Jason Morgan on GH and Harris Michaels on Days. The Young and the Restless fans may also know Burton as Dylan McAvoy. The soap hopper has finalized his divorce from his estranged wife, Sheree Gustin.
The news of him getting divorced shocked GH fans in May 2022 since the couple seemed happily married.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Burton and Gustin Share Three Children
Steve Burton and Sheree Gustin will share joint legal and physical custody of their two children, Brooklyn and Jack. The two of them also share a 20-year-old daughter named Makena.
At the time of the split, Burton left a now-expired Instagram message saying
“I wanted to clear something up. Sheree and I are separated. She recently announced that she is expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine,”
he confirmed. He also specified that he and Sheree were not together but would continue co-parenting their three children.
“We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids. We would appreciate privacy at this time.”
Sheree gave birth to a daughter named Izabella in February. Gustin is now expecting her 5th child. She has not revealed who the child’s father is or if it is the same person.
Sheree is well into her 40s and now has five children. In October, she posted this message on Instagram,
“If you would have told me I was going to have five kids, with 2 of them being born in my 40s, I would have laughed and said you were crazy. But God has a plan, and here I am, and I couldn’t be happier or more grateful for my life and the people in it.”
She says she is strong and has learned much in the past couple of years. She wants to “motivate” other women to do the work and
“live the life they are destined to live.”
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Steve Burton and Sheree Gustin Were Married for 23 Years
Burton and Gustin were married for 23 years before they were separated. The former couple became estranged in March 2022.
What’s even more surprising is that Burton admitted that his refusal to receive the COVID-19 vaccine for General Hospital contributed to the end of their marriage.
Adding insult to injury, Burton must pay his ex-wife $12,500 monthly in child support for their minor children until April 2024. After that, the amount will decrease to $10,000 a month.
Gustin has also asked the judge to terminate any spousal support for her and Burton permanently. Both agreed that spousal support would be “waived now or at any point in the future,” regardless of any future situation. Sheree will also receive $50,000 as retroactive support.
Apparently, Burton’s choices regarding his refusal to receive the COVID-19 vaccine led to chaos in his personal life, causing his wife to be unhappy making her want “something more.”
Burton’s most popular role is unarguably Jason Morgan on General Hospital, where he played the right-hand man to mafia boss Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Jason was “allegedly” killed off in a tunnel explosion in November 2021. There has been some buzz around a possible return.
