General Hospital fans, grab your tissues—Gary James Fuller just made saying goodbye to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) a full-on emotional rollercoaster.

Storms, who plays Maxie, is taking a break from the show to move to Tennessee with her daughter, and Fuller, who plays her on-screen son James West, couldn’t resist sharing a sweet tribute on Instagram. Fans got a behind-the-scenes peek at her final day, from hospital bed scenes to backstage smiles, and Fuller’s message was simple but packed with heart: “@kirstenstorms we miss you already!”

The post had the GH fandom buzzing. Fans flooded the comments, some praising Fuller’s handling of the tear-jerking scenes, others openly weeping along with the characters. One fan admitted, “Who wasn’t bawling during James’s scenes!? 😭😭😭” while another just gushed, “Love these pics.”

Even while Maxie is on hiatus, it seems James is stealing the spotlight. Fans couldn’t get enough of the young actor, calling him a “bright star” and predicting big things for his career. “Love James ❤️, he’s a great little actor—wouldn’t be surprised if he gets scooped up for movies or prime-time shows 👏,” wrote one commenter. Another added, “Your acting was extra special on this episode. You’re a terrific person.”

The consensus? Fans are ready for more of James West, even without Maxie by his side. “Hope we see you a lot more on our screens!! You play James so well. Keep reaching for all those stars!” one fan encouraged.

While GH viewers will definitely miss Maxie for now, Fuller’s tribute—and his own standout performance—proved that a little love behind the scenes can make a big splash on screen.
