There has been some speculation as to whether or not the Laundrie family planted Brian’s remains themselves at the Carlton Reserve, but this gruesome ounce of speculation looks not to be the case at all. Upon further examination from the footage taken by a Fox News Digital Reporter and a Fox New Cameraman who followed them into the reserve, they were being closely followed by a policeman from the Northport Florida Police Department, and an FBI Agent, who followed them at a distance of about 50 yards.
Brians Mother, Roberta, was seen carrying a backpack that seemed to be full of water bottles, his Father Chris was completely empty-handed. They never actually entered the trail where Brian’s remains were found, rather, they were 15 yards away on a different trail when the FBI Agent notified them that they had uncovered what looked to be remains.

Brian’s Father, Chris, had been wading in water up to his knees looking for his son, his pants were wet. The parents had even split up at one point and gone on different trails, but neither went to the particular trail that Brian was on, it was indeed the Federal Agent that discovered his remains.
So that bit of speculation can be put to rest, it looks like there’s actual video footage of the discovery of Laundrie’s remains, so that clears the parents of that particularly heinous crime. However, they’ve still did some uestionable things, even on the day of the discovery they told the Fox reporters to give them at least 50 feet of space, that they were feeling uncomfortable.
Understandable, it is their son that they were looking for and maybe they wanted a little room to stand back in case one of them made the discovery, we can’t imagine how that feels to discover a loved one’s body… especially one’s child, in such a condition.
But asking for space and committing a crime are two very different things and it’s looking more and now we can at least rule out one particularly gruesome theory that was going around the true crime community, though we do wish that justice could have been served properly.
