Emma Stone has completely transformed in her role as Cruella de Vil in the upcoming Disney film that will focus on the early days of one of film’s most infamous villains ever. The official trailer is out and gives us our first full look at the actress in the role and it’s terrifying.
She completely embodies the role of the evil fashionista and almost doesn’t feel like it’s Stone! The trailer was uploaded with the following description and has given viewers a lot to look forward to.
“Academy Award® winner Emma Stone (“La La Land”) stars in Disney’s “Cruella,” an all-new live-action feature film about the rebellious early days of one of cinemas most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil. “Cruella,” which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs.”

While I like the film ‘Malificent’ with Angelina Jolie, I don’t care for the fact that they took one of the most legendary villains ever and made her a misunderstood antihero. Cruella is cruel. She’s evil. She wants to murder 101 puppies! Make her the most dastardly character we’ve seen come to live-action yet!
After seeing the trailer, I have hope and Stone looks to be able to pull this off tremendously well. Let’s hope they keep her terrible side the entire film!
Fans in the comments aren’t letting themselves get too excited about the film just yet and will wait for the release before judgment. We hope that the film holds up, however, and this trailer, while it had some odd parts, looks promising!
Perhaps the strangest part is at the end of the trailer, we saw it’s not yet rated. Are they still fumbling with bringing it down to a PG-13 rating?
Disney’s ‘Cruella’ releases on May 28th this year.
