El Final del Paraíso spoilers reveal the end is here, and it was awful. Seriously. We can’t stress how obvious this last-second series finale intended to be a cliffhanger into next year was. But, since we have followed and enjoyed this show for years, we’re going to start with the good. Hang on, because this is going to be a mess.

El Final del Paraíso spoilers: The good

One thing we liked was the death of Mariana Sanín Santana (Stephania Duque). We’ve been waiting for this since the revelation the original chicas del barrio and their daughters are cursed. Among her many issues are almost killing Catalina Marín Santana (Carolina Gaitán), the rape of Hernán Darío Bayona (Juan Pablo Urrego), and trying to kill her own mother. Her death came suddenly, after a whiplash-inducing repentance for her sins. Carmen Villalobos killed it as Catalina Santana, watching her daughter die right in front of her.

El Final del Paraíso spoilers: Resolution

Another good part is (that will feed into the epically bad) is we did get plenty of resolution. We learned that Doña Hilda Santana (Catherine Siachoque) wins in the fashion world, and she ended up with Salvatore Miranda (Martín Karpan).

Yésica “La Diabla” Beltrán (Kimberly Reyes) was captured and extradited to the United States. She ended up pleading guilty to a ton of charges.

Vanessa Salazar (Estefanía Gómez) and José Luis “Jota” Vargas (Francisco Bolívar) ended up coming back to town and helping youth dealing with drug addiction. It’s a strange deviation for her earlier decision to get out of dodge. They did, however, travel the world together first.

Albeiro Marín (Fabián Ríos) ends up with Marcela Pinzón (Giovanna Andrade) somehow and found a happy life raising Albeirito. How they ended up together isn’t clear.

El Final del Paraíso spoilers reveal that Natalia Bérmudez (Linda Baldrich) ended up getting a promotion within the DEA. How, we’re not sure. Yes, they captured Diabla, but they also did a rogue operation that involved civilians. We’re pretty sure an agency would frown on that. The series ending found her with Ivan Calvo (Carlos Benítez).

Finally, we have Catalina la Grande. She apparently got a promotion as well, and raised her granddaughter while running her foundation. She also holds vigil at the bedside of Aurelio “El Titi” Jaramillo (Gregorio Pernía), who went into a coma after taking a bullet meant for Cata Grande.

El Final del Paraíso spoilers: The horrible

This leads us to the bad. So, how do we know all these things? After obviously cancelling the show at the last minute, they added a bunch of graphics of the different characters to the end of the episode. Text moved at lightning speed across the screen, giving all these vital details. It was a cheap, cheesy way to close out a show that fans have been following for years. It was also disrespectful to a couple of characters, and incomplete. So, what did they forget?

El Final del Paraíso spoilers: The forgotten

One of the first to fall into the plothole of cancellation was Edmundo “Sombra” Dorantes Borrero (Mauricio Cujar). After spending most of the season talking about his quest to prove his innocence, we didn’t get that. Last we saw him, he agreed to meet with Alex Mondego (Pedro Calvo). He asked Sombra to stay with him, but we didn’t see his answer. Nor do we know what become on his man (and Cata Grande’s son) Sebastian Sanín Santana (Carlos Báez).

Reina (Alejandra Miranda) and Ramón “Moncho” Monetcarlo (Mauricio Mauad) were the next to fall. After Moncho betrayed her, Reina was furious and told Alex Moncho is dead to her. We later see Reina arrive at Moncho’s room to talk, but we have no idea what happened.

Another one who fell into plot hole purgatory is Santiago Sanín (Roberto Manrique). His quest to prove himself was also a big story. Unfortunately, that scene we described where his amnesia-sticken self meets a woman who appears to know him was his last appearance. No details are given in the final breakdown. But, that wasn’t the worst sin the writers committed.

El Final del Paraíso spoilers: Unacceptable

Besides El Titi and Cata, we haven’t seen a pairing that is more popular than Cata 2 and Nachi. That is why we can’t fathom why there was no update on them. We know Cata 2 was released and sent back to her family, but Nachi was still missing, held as a bargaining chip by Mariana. Considering Cata 2 was the main protagonist for the first two seasons, and they continued to play a major role in season 3, the oversight is a massive disrespect. The fans deserved much better, as did the actors.
