It has been reported that disgraced singer Robert Sylvester Kelly (R Kelly) has received both shots of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, with the first administered in January and the second in February.

The 54 year old is currently a guest of the state of Illinois, being held in the federal Metropolitan Correctional Center of Chicago. He is currently awaiting trial after being charged with several counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, including transporting minors across state lines for the purposes of sex, producing child pornography, and destroying evidence.

Robert Sylvester Kelly has received the COVID-19 vaccine in prison!

Kelly was arrested in July 2019 and has been locked-up since, despite the “I Believe I Can Fly” singer repeatedly attempting to be released from custody due to the dangers of the Corona Virus pandemic.

It was widely reported that the Covid-19 virus spread like wildfire throughout the over-crowded prisons in the US. With few places to quarantine infected inmates, the correctional facilities often had to separate those found positive with Corona by placing them in solitary confinement.

To combat the amplified spread, bail was reduced to $0 for inmates charged with misdemeanors and thousands of offenders of low-level felonies, or those close to finishing their sentence were released. No matter how insistent his lawyers were, Kelly was not granted release while awaiting his trial.

According to TMZ Kelly is one of more than 60 inmates at the Chicago correctional facility to be fully inoculated.

Lifetime channel’s Surviving R. Kelly detailed the claims of sexual abuse with many of Kelly’s victims interviewed. The documentary ultimately led to the formal charges being laid. While Kelly’s victims can’t be thrilled to hear their abuser is now safer than they are from the pandemic, at lest they know he will not be able to cite the virus as a reason he should be allowed to await his trial, currently scheduled for September out and free.
