British Royal Family News find that even though she is the leader of the monarchy and perhaps one of the most important people in the world, some royal critics believe that her grandson Prince Harry apparently ‘stole’ Queen Elizabeth’s thunder last week.
But is that even possible? Well, it depends on who you ask as some royal experts say the timing of Prince Harry’s appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden was bad as it took away from Queen Elizabeth’s very important message about Covid-19 vaccinations. Here’s what you need to know.
British Royal Family News: Did Prince Harry Steal Queen Elizabeth’s Thunder?
Last week, everyone and their mothers, brothers, sisters, and neighbors couldn’t help but talk about how cute the Duke of Sussex was on his tour of Los Angeles with the late night host.
Well, Harry’s appearance happened a night before Queen Elizabeth tried to encourage Britons to get the Covid-19 vaccine, which a lot of people believe is a far more important message. That’s why some critics believe Prince Harry stole his grandmother’s thunder.
Robert Jobson of the Daily Mail puts it this way, “Critics have questioned the timing of his ‘prancing’ TV appearance, released last night just as the Queen gave a rare public statement encouraging all Britons to ‘think about others’ and have the Covid-19 jab. Palace sources told MailOnline the timing of Harry’s TV appearance is ‘unhelpful, and has caused ‘disquiet’ at the palace, especially with Prince Philip spending his 11th day in hospital battling a nasty infection.”
Jobson added, “Timing is everything isn’t it. On the day that the Queen has issued a very, very important message about the whole of the nation getting the jab, that message has sort of been blurred by Harry, the man who wants a private life, talking about his private life again.”
During his interview with James Corden and tour of Los Angeles on an open-air rooftop double decker bus, Prince Harry was also clear to point out that he never walked away from the royal family.
“We never walked away, and as far as I’m concerned, whatever decisions are made on that side, I will never walk away,” Harry said, seemingly referencing his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth and her decision to strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle away from their patronages. “I will always be contributing. But my life is public service, so wherever I am in the world, it’s gonna be the same thing.”
