‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers find that Eric Brady fans rejoiced when the sensational summer preview dropped showing the character’s unexpected return.
The name, Eric has been on multiple Salemites’ lips of late, with Nicole Walker’s (Arianne Zucker) infidelity with Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) seemingly the beginning of the end for Eric and Nicole’s long distance marriage.
It made sense that Nicole would come clean about her drunken romp in the sack with Xander on an awkward phone call, likely with a gun to her head as Sami forced the confession.

This would break the confining marriage up, freeing Nicole up to get together with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering). Audiences would have been pleased.
But pleased doesn’t appease DOOL head writer, Ron Carlivati. Taking it an awesome step further, Carlivati is bringing Vaughan back to our screens this summer!
Though Vaughan had been quoted as saying “Never say never” when it came to returning to his stomping grounds, fans were shocked to see Eric Brady show up in the sizzle reel seeing as Vaughan burnt a couple of bridges on his way out the door during NBC’s culling in 2019.
Saying he felt he was a “glorified extra” he left the soap behind and quietly married actress Angie Harmon.
Vaughan had started interacting with DOOL tweets lately, so it seemed he was feeling a little nostalgic. It turns out he was on his way back to Salem!
There have been zero leaks about how long Eric will remain in Salem or what will happen while he is there. We can only go on the guilt riddled expression on Nicole’s face when the two tumble into bed.
It’s likely Eric will wish he’d stayed in Africa as Nicole confesses, breaking the marriage beyond repair and freeing Nicole up to get together with Rafe.
