Days of Our Lives actor Gilles Marini has just shared some very sad personal news. The actor, who is best known for his role as Ted on the hit NBC soap, has announced that one of his furry family members has passed away. Here’s what you need to know.
While there have been plenty of soap stars who have mourned the loss of their beloved dogs or cats in the past, Gilles is devastated that his bird Coco has passed away. He recently took to his social media account to thank Coco for providing all of her delicious eggs during her life, which he says was “long and cool.”
Also, the actor says that Coco’s death was sudden and that she was behaving quite normal on her last day. Gilles wrote on his Instagram account, “Thanks for the memories Coco. You were our favorite green egg lady. You lived long and well. Thanks @thejuliandahl for taking this picture. She passed away the next day. #grateful #animals #loveall #rip.”

It didn’t take very long for Gilles’ social media fans to express their condolences to the actor. Many have left comments such as, “Sorry for your loss. We have one rooster, 11 hens and 5 chicks a few weeks old. Love them all like family,” along with, “You have such tenderness and sensitivity. It’s so beautiful and it makes you a great mentor for other men. Thanks for sharing this loving moment and memory.”
