‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers suggest that the judge may impose a harsh penalty on Rachel Black (Alice Halsey) for shooting her uncle, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel).
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Rachel Has Her Hearing Coming Up
Rachel has her big hearing coming up, and she’ll have to tell the judge the truth. She desperately wants her mother, Kristen DiMera (Stacey Haiduk) not to have to go down in her place.
Meanwhile, Kristen is desperately trying to save her daughter. Rachel didn’t actually remember shooting EJ until after her mother went to prison.
Kristen has been protecting Rachel from the start like no other mother. She confessed to attempted murder, a crime she didn’t commit.
Recent scenes showed Kristen and Belle Black (Martha Madison) arguing over the best way to handle Rachel’s case. Kristen insisted that she doesn’t want EJ present at the hearing.
However, Belle tried to explain to Kristen that it would be good for EJ to be there since he would undoubtedly tell the judge he doesn’t want his young, impressionable niece to go to juvenile detention.
Despite Belle’s repeated assurances that Rachel won’t face a harsh punishment, she may not be able to make that promise, and neither can Kristen.
That said, Rachel is doing what she believes is right. Kristen and Rachel are currently supporting Rachel and guiding her through this complicated legal situation.
Since Rachel is currently in Bayview, Kristen is pushing to take her out of the treatment facility. She’s not exactly thrilled about Rachel’s newfound friendship with teen troublemaker, Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd).

However, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) suggested instead that they go to Bayview and speak with the doctor first. Then, they will make the decision together as parents.
Rachel definitely needs help, considering that she shot her uncle and almost killed Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) by giving her pistachio ice cream.
Sarah, of course, is deathly allergic to pistachios, a fact that the resourceful little girl discovered after doing a quick internet search on Sarah.
Kristen isn’t happy about Sarah getting close to her daughter either. The two women have a complicated and fraught history rooted in past trauma, jealousy, and possessiveness.
Sarah raised Rachel for the first year of her life. However, it was later discovered that Rachel belonged to Kristen. Sarah kidnapped Rachel to keep her from Kristen, and Kristen has never forgotten it.
Kristen and Sarah are also at odds over Brady, but Kristen insists that she’s over him. We suspect that Rachel will likely sabotage Brady and Sarah’s budding relationship.
The young girl has ruined all her father’s romances because she wants her dad to be with Kristen. So, Kristen may decide to bring Rachel home to be with her, which could backfire.

If Kristen takes Rachel out of the hospital before she’s ready, the judge may view that as a sign that she’s not getting the help she needs and doesn’t have parents who will make sure that she does.
Sometimes in situations like that, the judge will decide on a more disciplinary outcome. We fully understand Kristen’s impulse to take her out of Bayview, but it wouldn’t necessarily be a good look.
Plus, Rachel committed some very serious crimes. Despite EJ’s shooting being an accident, the judge may be reluctant to believe it.
After all, Rachel’s parents have been investigated by Child Protective Services. Rachel’s family background doesn’t exactly portray them in a sympathetic light. However, that isn’t Rachel’s fault.
Rachel is a child who needs help with her trauma. However, it would traumatize her even further if she were placed in the juvenile justice system.
Even if EJ intervenes and explains to the judge that the shooting was an accident, the judge may still hand Rachel a much harsher punishment than Kristen is banking on. Poor Rachel is already terrified.
We also suspect that if Rachel does end up in a juvenile detention center, it will be a good opportunity for the soap to SORAS the character.
Alice Halsey is officially leaving DOOL to star in the Netflix reboot of Little House on the Prairie. She’s playing the role of Laura Ingalls. It’s a shame she’s leaving DOOL, because she’s perfect in the Rachel role. The new actress will be revealed in March.
