‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: EJ Agreed To Save Lucas’s Life If Sami Slept With Him
Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) got the ball rolling when they were at Brady’s Pub. Johnny’s grandfather pointed out to him that EJ was no better than Arnold Feniger (Galen Gering), who slept with Sami when she believed the doppelganger was her then-husband, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering).
Johnny pressed Roman for answers, but his grandfather walked away from the conversation before he could reveal a long-buried family secret he knew would hurt Johnny deeply.
Johnny then went to Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow), who told him the whole story about what happened the fateful night. Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) and Sami were trapped in a cabin in a snowstorm, and Lucas was in grave danger.
EJ agreed to save Lucas if Sami slept with him, which led to her being pregnant with Johnny. Sami had twins. She gave birth to Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold), who was Lucas’s daughter, and Johnny, who was EJ’s son. Now, here we are.
Johnny confronted EJ with an epic punch to the face. This storyline finally gives Carson Boatman meaty material to play that doesn’t involve being the director of a fake soap opera. Boatman gave a gorgeous and perfectly nuanced performance as he put his range on full display for the audience.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Feuerriegel Made Us Almost Feel Sorry For EJ
Johnny was livid with his father and raged at EJ until his father left the room. He cried in his wife’s, Chanel DiMera’s (Raven Bowens) arms. Dan Feuerriegel’s performance was equally a tour de force.
No one would ever call EJ vulnerable, but Feuerriegel made the viewer almost feel sorry for EJ, as he was emotionally wrecked and pleaded for Johnny’s forgiveness, telling his son that he loved him. The scene where EJ broke down on the stairs was flawless. It added depth and raw emotion to the moment.
Days is upping the stakes and doubling down on drama as Johnny must contend with the fact that he was a product of rape.
It also brings a rare and dysfunctional family dynamic between father and son. It’s the type of news that will make Johnny question his own abilities as a father as he and Chanel plan to start a family.
It makes good use of the rich history of the soap and serves as the lead-up to EJ getting shot. It also makes us wonder what will happen when Allison Sweeny returns to Days this spring.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Will Johnny Blame Sami For Keeping The Truth From Him?
Will Johnny blame his mother for not telling him all these years? EJ and Sami had a complicated relationship, to say the least, so it will be interesting to see how Sami reacts when she tries to explain the reasoning as EJ did: they were protecting Johnny and shielding him from the ugly truth.
It seems that most of the family knew what EJ did. They all made a pact to keep this secret from Johnny. However, did Sami’s sister, Belle Black (Martha Madison) know? It was never clear whether she was aware of the entire history between Sami and EJ.
The enormity and intensity of the scenes between Johnny and EJ serve to propel the storyline of who shot EJ. It doesn’t necessarily mean Johnny will be the one to pull the trigger, but everything has been leading up to EJ’s comeuppance and the realization that sooner or later, EJ was destined to pay the price.
