‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers haven’t expected much from the Salem PD for awhile now.
They just can’t do much of anything right and have been inept for years. They really can’t catch a cold on a breezy day without lots of help.
Granted, it’s typical in soaps so the stars can shine and vigilante justice comes to the fore, but they’re really digging themselves in deep this time.
Their latest issue is not figuring out Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) was kidnapped and didn’t escape from Statesville prison.
Kristen does treat jail and prison like a country club by coming and going as she pleases. But there’s no evidence or logical reason for them to only focus on that.
They haven’t even considered the possibility that she was kidnapped despite her DiMera siblings being taken.
We expect that from the Salem PD, but not from Brady Black (Eric Martsolf).
He’s uber paranoid about Kristen causing havoc, and now that he knows she gave herself up to protect their daughter, he should be wondering if she was taken.
Sure, he’s going through a lot, but he’s paranoid and now feeling guilty about what he said. Shouldn’t that trigger some braincell growth or synapses firing?
There is no way, no matter what’s happening, that Brady would forget about Kristen. This is purely lazy writing, but let’s dig in and have some fun!
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Kristen gave herself up
The one thing that sticks out to ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers the most about this is she gave herself up. Kristen turned herself in to protect Rachel Black (Alice Halsey).
So why would she escape and risk the truth coming out? And if she did escape, she’d go right to Rachel to see her.
The latter holds true especially if Kristen had reason to think Rachel was in trouble. Since that news came out after she was kidnapped and she just learned it, it doesn’t wash.
It really struck us how the numerous times Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) or anyone else has mentioned the kidnapped DiMeras she’s ignored.
Does she exist in their world anymore? If this Dr Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) messing with the town’s water supply with his Can’t Remember Stuff?
Instead, she’s not listed with her family members who have been taken.
Our best guess is everyone thinks she’s behind the disappearances.
A shame Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis)’s disappearance predates her escape. That pesky logic.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Are they grateful?
Of course, given how the show is being written, she’s either forgotten by accident or the police and Brady are grateful.
They’re grateful she’s not around causing trouble, but that doesn’t make much sense.
If anything, everyone should be on high alert for her to reappear. Like say at Bayview where Rachel is staying.
For Brady, his paranoia and newfound sympathy toward her she should have him wondering what happened to her, where is she?
He should’ve mentioned it to someone since Kristen would want to visit or break Rachel out of Bayview.
This is a huge plot hole that’s becoming more and more prevalent as of late.
We’re hopeful a legitimate excuse will be made, but we doubt anything can explain Brady forgetting about her. Sorry, writers, that’s never going to happen in this case.
