‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers learned that Ron Carlivati is out as head writer for ‘Days of Our Lives” effective immediately.

News has spread far and wide about his leaving the show he was head writer for since 2017. Two years before that he held the same position on ‘General Hospital’.

No reason was given, but Paula Cwikly and Keanne Marie Ford were named as his replacements.

While no reason was given, we’ll still see his content through April 2025 due to the show shooting episodes six months ahead.

This will give plenty of time for more news to come out and to get ready to see what direction the new writers will take the show.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Turning the page

The show released a statement announcing the change (special thanks to She Knows for the quotes):

“Days of our Lives is announcing today that Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford will become the daytime drama’s new head writers beginning immediately.

As part of the change, head writer Ron Carlivati will be departing the show after seven years.

Episodes written by him will air through April 2025 due to the show’s unique tape to air schedule.”

The show’s Executive Producer Ken Corday added that:

“We look forward to approaching our 60th Anniversary next year with Paula and Jeanne Marie at the helm and fresh, exciting stories that we know the fans will embrace.

We wish Ron nothing but the best and thank him for his dedication and the respect he has shown to me, the cast, and the show’s legacy.”

This is a big shakeup a year after former co-executive producer Albert Alarr was let go and replaced by Janet Spellman-Drucker due to allegations of sexual misconduct.

Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford have log careers writing for soaps, so it’s doubtful there will be a drop off, just a change.

Cwikly has written for ‘The Young and the Restless’, ‘As The World Turns’, ‘Sunset Beach”.

She was also on ‘DOOL’ in the early 2000s as an associate and head writer.

Jeanne Marie Ford was already working on the show as a breakdown writer. She started in 1992 and has written for ‘As The World Turns’ and ‘One Life To Live’.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Carlivati’s going to be missed

If there’s one thing ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers can say about Ron Carlivati is we’re going to miss his storytelling and humor.

He’s never been shy about embracing the fantastical elements of the show and trolling anyone from fans to former writers.

He reportedly was inspired to become a writer while working in Washington D.C as a lawyer. When one of his bosses, David Baldacci, became a best selling author he was hooked.

He got his start on ‘One Life To Live’ and worked his way up to head writer until it was canceled in 2012. Ron Carlivati then worked as head writer for ‘General Hospital’ until 2015.

He made the show fun and we wish him the best. We can’t wait to see what’s next for him.

What do you think about the writer change? Let us know in the comments below.
