‘Days of Our Lives (DOOL)’ spoilers find that this weekend was a rollercoaster for Bo Brady fans when a Peter Reckell imposter got their hopes up that the beloved legacy character would return to the long-running soap.
A fake Peter Reckell Facebook account posted about his indecision to return to Days for a week as a surprise ‘drop-in’ for daughter, Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal). It sure would be a surprise, seeing as Bo has been dead for five years.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Sorry Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) fans, but Bo is NOT coming back from the dead.
Then again, a big ole brain tumor doesn’t necessarily keep a good Salemite down, and with many nods to Bo going on right now with Ben Weston kidnapping Ciara from her wedding as Bo did with Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso), it wasn’t a completely strange time for Reckell to consider some sort (perhaps ghostly) return.
However, when Reckell got wind of the imposter account and the fake news of Bo’s return, he rushed to Twitter to explain it is all a lie.
In two separate posts he explained, “I do NOT have a Facebook account. I hope none of you have been taken in by this imposter. Stay healthy and happy.” and “It would be nice if people would stop saying I’m going back to DOOL without checking with me. Yes, I miss Bo, but not enough to change how fulfilling my life is right now.”
The fake Facebook account still gained traction with faux-Bo thanking “his fans” for supporting his return to Days, at which point, Reckell’s wife, Kelly Moneymaker, whose singing/songwriting career the imposter blamed for him being unable to go back to the soap until now, took to Facebook to spread the word that the news, no matter how exciting, was not true.
“Please spread the word that @peterreckell doesn’t have a FB page. We don’t live in Hamilton & it’s not my career that keeps him from returning to @daysofourlives. Sheesh. We are both so tired of imposters & ppl who spread misinformation. Love to all.”
Fans and followers have since submitted multiple complaints to Facebook about the imposter, asking the social media giant to delete the account. The company, however, has responded to several fans, saying they do not plan on taking down the account as it does not “pose a danger to other people or are harmful to the community.”
The fake account continues posing as Reckell, even after the ruse was uncovered.
Meanwhile a slew of alum have signed on for Peacock’s five episode miniseries spin-off, Beyond Salem including Chandler Massey (Will Horton), Christie Clark (Carrie Brady) Austin Peck (Austin Reed) Lisa Rinna (Billie Reed and Eileen Davison (…???…)
Watch Days of Our Lives, weekdays on NBC…with no Bo. Sorry.
