‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal that Kristen DiMera’s (Stacey Haiduk) and Rachel Black’s (Alice Halsey) reunion on DOOL was everything we had hoped for.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Kristen Would Die for Rachel
Haiduk and Halsey made the perfect team as they tugged on our heartstrings and reminded us of the true meaning of family on Christmas.
After the DiMera family was finally rescued from the crypt, Kristen went to the hospital to be treated for a fever and a nasty hand infection she acquired trying to dig her way out with her bare hands.

And that was before she heroically saved her family from certain death at the hands of her insane brother, Peter Blake (Dan Gauthier).
If all that doesn’t let you know how bada** and fabulous our Kristen DiMera really is, she’s even tougher, fiercer, and more resilient in the name of protecting her daughter.

While the typically calculating, conniving Kristen usually only looks out for her own self-interest, she would literally lay down and die for her daughter, Rachel.
When it comes to Kristen, her daughter humanizes her and makes her relatable as a mother. While normally portrayed as a self-serving villain, Kristen was ready to go back to prison to protect Rachel.
However, it was her daughter who made her finally see the truth. Rachel remembers shooting her uncle, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerreigel), and knows what her mother sacrificed for her.

The ten-year-old also recently harmed Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) after she uncovered Sarah’s fatal allergy to pistachios. Thankfully, Sarah is fine now, but Rachel could have killed her.
Rachel desperately pleaded with her mother, telling her she didn’t want any more secrets. She wants the truth to come out and she begged her mom to stick around for her.
A reluctant Kristen didn’t immediately agree, but Kristen couldn’t deny anymore what Rachel seems to already know deep down: she’s a little girl who needs help.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Rachel Wants the Truth About EJ’s Shooting to Come Out
Rachel is currently in the pediatric wing of Bayview Psychiatric Hospital. She was very upset and disappointed that she couldn’t come home for Christmas, but her grandma, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), managed to succeed in getting her a day pass for the holiday.
After Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) laid into Kristen for keeping him in the dark about Rachel shooting EJ, he expressed his gratitude for her protecting her daughter.

Then, Rachel walked into the room, and that’s when the magic happened. Halsey and Haiduk knocked it out of the park as mother and daughter embraced for the first time since Kristen confessed to the crime her daughter had committed.
Rachel’s newfound desire for honesty shows significant character growth, which Halsey has played beautifully. The equally talented Haiduk has shown us the depth of Kristen’s love for Rachel without losing Kristen’s tenacity or the true spirit of her alter ego.

Rachel and Kristen are so much alike that it’s no wonder that DOOL’s casting department took home the Daytime Emmy this year. Hasley is a rare gem in the acting world, and her chemistry and rhythm with Haiduk are incomparable.
Kristen finally accepted that the truth about EJ’s shooting was her daughter’s truth to reveal and not hers to conceal. She made peace with her daughter’s decision.
We hope this makes Kristen and Rachel’s relationship as mother and daughter that much stronger. Bravo to Haiduk and Halsey for making this year’s DOOL’s Christmas episode one we won’t soon forget.
