‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers have our favorites in Salem like anyone, and Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) was one of those, but the writers have been pushing her closer and closer to the dislike section for reasons.
While we didn’t agree with her keeping the news from Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) about being a father, it was at least understandable that she couldn’t let go of the belief he had a part in getting Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) killed.
We’ve mentioned numerous times how Sarah ignored the facts that he let Susan go and she ran back into danger because Sarah needed a reason to hate Xander and him murdering someone gave that to her.
But now Sarah ran into Susan, had a bad shock, and then changed her mind about Xander.
Seemed awfully quick and too easy, didn’t it?
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Is Sarah bipolar?
At this point, we don’t know if Sarah is dealing with PTSD, bipolar disorder, or anything else with the way the writing is going.
We think the writers are trying to make things more dramatic, but it feels more like they’re not taking time to let things develop.
In this case, they’re putting Sarah and Xander back together and it’s another here we go again moment.
We just watched an episode where Sarah and Xander hashed out their issues and were ready for shared custody of their daughter.
Okay, they’re making steps to becoming a couple again. We can handle that. But then Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) called her to tell him Xander’s suing for full custody, citing she’s an unfit mother.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: About face!
‘Days of Our Lives’ know they’re trying to create drama, and it makes sense that Sarah will take offense to being called an unfit mother, but that was before their talk.
Seriously, this is such a weird take on it by having her do a full 180 degree turn and is now intent on destroying Xander in court after everything she just told him about how she was wrong.
The sad part is we don’t think this will be handled like a heat of the moment act by her and things will become even more heated between them.
But here’s the thing. Instead of giving us a storyline twist that makes no sense, why not explore her sudden change by having her deal with a mental health issue?
Her friends and family could see what’s going on and wonder is there’s something more going on given her actions and begin the process of working through it and helping her.
It’d be a great way to put a spotlight on the issue, but instead, they’ll have the normal crew back her up and support her like they did when Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) took advantage of Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal)’s amnesia, and no, we’re not letting that one go either.
Hopefully, the show will handle this in a way that makes sense instead of just having Sarah throw a tantrum and then double down to create drama.
What do you think about Sarah’s about face? Should it be handled differently? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘Days of Our Lives’ for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
