‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers have been waiting for news on what the show planned for Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) after she left the show after her request to have more time off was reportedly denied.
It’s left a hole in the show as Gabi is so much fun and a ball of energy, but it looks like they may have recast her with Cherie Jimenez, according to the Facebook page DaysCaps by KatLucas.
This is good news as the only other options were to either kill her off or have her stay off camera until they could convince Camila to come back.
Of course, this is pure speculation from the page as they even say the show hasn’t announced it, but she is being followed by most of the cast.

While there have been rumors that Cherie was taking over as Gabi for a few weeks according to some reports on youtube and dailymotion, and it was talked about in She Knows forums.
As per DaysCaps: “So, nothing has been confirmed by the show, but it looks more and more like actress Cherie Jimenez is the new Gabi Hernandez DiMera.
Nearly everyone at DAYS already follows her on Instagram as they are filming six months ahead.
The page will update you when it’s official and we hear of a first air date. ✌️”
The show regularly shoots six months ahead, so there could be a deal in place already or there may not be.
The show could be waiting until closer to her air date to make an announcement to make sure they get more viewers for Gabi’s return.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Delays due to the strike
There have been reports that delays to recast Gabi may stem from the strikes Hollywood suffered, as despite daytime soaps being under different contracts to protect their income, Cherie and others most likely weren’t so they couldn’t be brought in or signed.
Cherie, who’s appeared on the shows ‘Banshee’, ‘The Newsroom’, ‘Pretty Little Liars’, and ‘NCIS’ will have a chance to make the character her own like Camila did, and ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers are excited to see her take on Gabi.
Assuming the rumors are true, of course, and that means she could be getting released from prison before too long.
