'Days of Our Lives' Spoilers: If It Keeps On Raining, the Levee's Gonna Break - Eve Wins War Vs Jennifer, But Jack's Repressed Memories Burst Through Like A Dam Failure

‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers indicate that Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) has come back to Salem, thanks to Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva), after being thought dead for years. This return has caused a lot of anguish, which was just what Eve wanted for a few reasons.

    • Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) helped break up Eve’s relationship with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). What better way to make Jennifer squirm than to take her true love?
    • She gets to watch a town that doesn’t like her squirm, as she lords her potential First Lady of Salem position over them all, while Jack wants nothing to do with them.
    • Eve is just too desperate to be alone, so why not latch on to a guy with no memory to know better than to get within a 100 feet of her?

So far, it seems to be working. Jack is fed up with everyone’s pressure to be the old him, as well as their stories about how horrible he was once. Seriously? Why do they mostly lead with that, anyway? No wonder he’s falling into Eve’s clutches. Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) even tried to help reunite Jack with his family by paying him to have dinner with them. Why the meal had its nice moments, it seemed to end up doing the opposite of bringing the family back together again. Not only was it a bit awkward, but all the reminiscing hasn’t jogged his memory once in all this time. Until now…

Jennifer, in a desperate attempt to stop his wedding to Eve repeats an old scheme of his. She recently kidnapped him in the exact same way he did to stop her marriage to another man. This led to a fight, and a misguided moment of frustration that led to Jack getting hit on the head. So what will that mean for his future in Salem, and his relationship with Jennifer? Here’s how we see it.

First off, as newer viewers we aren’t as knowledgeable about their past, but it doesn’t take much to see that they are a likely end game, given how everyone has been going on about their great love. Not to mention how that relationship made him a better man, and he’s been backsliding a bit. Clearly, the writers are telegraphing a reunion from miles away.

Secondly, DOOL spoilers relate that Jack has remembered at least one detail of their past now, and on his own, immediately following that hit to the head. Between that and remembering the Shakespeare line before, how long until more memories follow—especially the bad ones of Eve? That will not be conducive to him staying on his current path.

Third, Jack is just protesting far too much. He keeps insisting he doesn’t want anything to do with Jennifer now, and he wants to build his own future free of the past he can’t remember. Sounds legit in theory. So then did he try to get JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) to be his best man? Why is he not pushing Eve to leave the town that only wants a certain version of him? We think somewhere deep inside, Jack wants to remember and reclaim the life that was once his.
