‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers suggest that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) has proven that she’s way more like Stefano DiMera (Joe Mascolo) than her brother, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerreigel) is.
Kristen Was the Brains of the “Operation” and Made Sophia the “Fall Guy”
We never saw the ending of the May 1st episode of DOOL coming. This week’s DOOL spoilers indicated that on Friday, May 1st, Kristen would “get her revenge.”
It made very little sense considering that we all knew that Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) would turn out fine.
That said, kudos to DOOL for crafting one hell of a shocking ending to Sophia Choi’s (Rachel Boyd) perpetually tragic life.

Kristen had instructed Sophia to kill EJ’s son, Johnny. However, it was obvious that Sophia’s much more complicated plan to use nail polish remover, gas stove burners, and a candle wouldn’t work.
Fortunately, Javi Hernandez (Al Calderon) saved Johnny in time. However, Sophia wasn’t as lucky. Kristen had plans to meet with Sophia on some remote bridge.
Instead of funding Sophia’s “beautiful new life” as promised in exchange for killing Johnny, Kristen decided to get justice for her daughter. She told Sophia that she was going to help her “fake her death.” Hence, her phony suicide note.

Suddenly, Kristen bashed Sophia over the head with a rock, and the DiMera henchmen were ready and waiting to toss her body into the river.
In that moment, it became abundantly clear that Kristen wasn’t trying to get revenge on EJ so much as she was on Sophia.
Kristen Set Sophia Up to be Murdered…. and Had it Planned Out the Entire Time
Viewers recall when Kristen’s daughter, Rachel Black (Lorelei Olivia Mote), shared with her how much it hurt her that Sophia framed her for switching Holly Jonas’s (Ashley Puzemis) skin supplements with her own medication.
Kristen told Rachel that she had learned a very valuable life lesson from Sophia: “If you’re not the brains of the operation, you’re probably the fall guy.”
We had a feeling that Kristen was setting Sophia up. However, what we didn’t have on our bingo card was that Kristen would actually murder a mentally unstable teenage girl.

It was the most “DiMera” thing we’ve ever seen DOOL pull off. Kristen has surpassed our expectations as the most like Stefano among all his children, and she’s not even blood-related!
Stacy Haiduk is one of the best and most underrated actresses on the soaps for this very reason. Her immense talent is palpable.
She gave EJ a run for his money today. Kristen killed Sophia with such cold-hearted masterful precision, and it was as effortless as her breathing.

EJ may not be the most ethical person in his family. After all, he’s always said that Chad DiMera (Conner Floyd) was the best of them.
However, EJ definitely has a heart. Somehow, we don’t see EJ hitting Sophia over the head with a rock, no matter how much he may hate her for the way she’s treated Johnny.
Speaking of Johnny, it’s also cold that Kristen was willing to sacrifice her nephew, (who has always treated her with respect), to get revenge on Sophia.
EJ Operates in the Gray Area, Especially When Compared to Kristen
Yes, EJ operates more in the gray area compared to his dear sister, Kristen. He loves his family and would do anything to protect them.
However, murdering a teenager who is struggling with mental health issues isn’t really EJ’s style. He wouldn’t hesitate to make Sophia the “fall guy,” or implicate her in a crime, but knowing EJ, killing Sophia would have played on his conscience.

What Kristen did to Sophia was meticulously planned out. We know that Kristen loves Rachel more than her own life, and in hindsight, we really should have seen this coming.
Sophia betrayed Rachel in a cruel, calculated way. She hurt Kristen’s daughter for her own personal gain. Sophia had to pay.
It all perfectly aligns with the person Kristen DiMera is. There is no world in which she was ever going to let Sophia get away with what she did to her daughter.

Kristen is a both loving mother and a cunning, cold-blooded killer. If it had been EJ in Kristen’s place, he would have simply let Sophia rot in prison for the rest of her pitiful life.
While it should have been obvious from the jump, we were genuinely shocked by what Kristen did. Not because it’s not who Kristen is, but because she played Sophia so well, we almost believed it.
EJ may wear his father’s coveted ring, but Kristen is definitely far more dangerous, sinister, and rooted in revenge than we could have ever imagined she would be.
