‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers are giving the new writers the benefit of the doubt.
Especially since their statement sounds more along the lines of maintaining the writing that’s been happening but doing it better.
We could tell there was a chance in Ron Carlivoti’s writing style the last month of him being part of the show.
It felt like he changed his style to avoid a shock or had his work rewritten to fit the new style.
It makes sense since a sudden shock is enough to get fans to stop watching.
Rewriting the events of a mystery or other events will do that same thing.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: It happens all the time
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers have seen how these rewrites happen all the time. new writers like to change history and events to fit their chosen narrative.
‘General Hospital’ and their issues the last couple of years are a perfect example of doing it the wrong way.
They changed characters’ pasts and mentality and many fans never forgave them.
So far, it seems like the new writers for ‘DOOL’ are staying true to the characters. They said they’re fans, so we expect this.
But in the latest episode, they changed how EJ DiMera (Daniel Feuerriegel) was shot. Or did they?

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Fixing lazy writing
It’s not a surprise the writers would change the events of EJ being shot to fit their narrative. Maybe the previous writer’s plan was too convoluted, too simple, or they just didn’t like it.
But given the shooting happened while Carlivoti’s style was changing, possibly under their watch, that feels like an excuse.
One way out is to have EJ’s dream be just that instead of a memory.
If it’s not a dream, then they changed what happened previously so Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) could be the shooter.
To fix this would be simple. The recording would stick, but Johnny decided he couldn’t shoot him and hid the gun by the time EJ turned around.
They exchanged words and Johnny left, and this would explain EJ’s beaten and injured mood we previously saw.
Seeing the video could be the trigger of the dream of Johnny shooting him and lead EJ to do everything he can to protect Johnny.
But what really could be worked out if Johnny met Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and that’s how Roman got his gun back.
This would keep the mystery open while narrowing the suspect list. Like EJ, we could believe Johnny shot him when he didn’t, and when the truth comes out it’ll be a huge shock.
