‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers love Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) and wish the writers left him and Javi Hernandez (Al Calderon) alone.

Instead, they fell into the typical Salem Wedding Trap curtesy of Leo’s former bestie Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien).

She had an axe to grind after Leo betrayed her by having an affair with her husband Dimitri Von Leuschner (Peter Porte).

Dimitri was fine with it since he only used Gwen to get his inheritance and he loved Leo.

But it wasn’t until EJ DiMera (Daniel Feuerriegel) told her to distract Leo or he’d take care of him that she sought out breaking Leo’s heart.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Evening the scales

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers are used to an eye for an eye revenge. It’s a soap staple.

So, it makes sense for Gwen to want some kind of revenge on her bestie. She already had it by having Dimitri kidnapped and held prisoner for a couple of years.

Leo and Dimitri broke her heart and she returned the favor. Even-steven, right?

    Not so fast.

Her plan wouldn’t have worked had Javi’s own insecurities not caused him to create a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Leo chose him and stood by him despite Dimitri’s admission. Javi rewarded it by pushing Leo to the curb.

Javi will now argue that he took the noble route when it was actually the selfish one.

He broke Leo’s heart before Leo could break his. And now Leo will think Javi doesn’t love him like he thought he did.

This and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall)’s advice will have him thinking of going back to Dimitri.

Meanwhile, Javi will cry himself to sleep wishing Leo was there where he would’ve been had Javi not panicked.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Gwen saved Leo’s life

With feels running rampant, it’s easy to miss how Gwen actually is a friend to Leo.

    Sort of.

Gwen still hates him and she has every right to hate him. But she doesn’t hate him enough to see him dead.

Make no mistake, Leo was a walking dead man as far as EJ was concerned.

He told Gwen that a few times along with how he’d remove Leo if she didn’t find a way to handle him.

She tried to get Leo to go on a harmless wild goose chase.

    Leo refused.

She then tried to talk him out of his investigation into her and EJ’s secret a couple of times.

    Leo refused.

She even practically told him his life was in danger if he kept pushing. Right in front of Javi. Leo and Javi were shocked, yet Leo refused to back down.

So, Gwen did the only thing she had left to distract him: she destroyed his wedding and broke his heart. She enjoyed it because of the pain he caused her, but she also saved his life.

She won’t be praised for that. She’ll be ridiculed for all she’s done and she deserves it.

The thing with soaps, as Leo is learning, is everything comes back to bite someone.

Is there a way for Gwen to redeem herself after this? Let us know in the comments below.
