    ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers for Monday, January 1st reveal it’s a new year in Salem. However, if Salem was hoping for a better year, they’ll be disappointed. Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and Tate Black (Jamie Martin Mann) in particular are going through it. Here’s what you need to know.

    ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers For Monday, January 1: Be careful what you wish for

    First, Tate has been hoping to go out with Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) since he first got back in town. Finally, she got over Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) enough to give him a real chance. Sadly, this date ended in disaster last time. We’ll see a repeat of Tate discovering Holly in the alley behind the Bistro. He’ll discover she’s been the victim of tainted pills.

    Back at the DiMera mansion, Nicole will be beside herself when she gets the news. It really feels like the writers are either trying to make Nicole sympathetic, or they don’t like her any more than we do. She’s supposedly lost her miracle baby and now she has to face the possibility of losing her daughter as well.

    In related news, Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) will have a rough start to the year as well. She’ll be furious when Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) suggests Tate may have played a role in Holly’s drug use. We assume this will lead to a rift between them that will set up Alex catching her and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) together in the Day of Days promo. We can definitely see a son going through a trauma like that—and being blamed—would bring parents together, no matter how many problems they’ve had.

    As for Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun), it’s been a nightmare for them to have to run Clyde Weston’s (James Read) drug operation. But it’s going to get worse when they face questions from Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) about Holly. Harris isn’t a fool, so we definitely think he’ll sense something is off, no matter what they tell him about the incident.

    ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers For Monday, January 1: Ringing in the year

    Finally, Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) ring in the New Year together. Days of Our Lives spoilers indicate this will be a mixed moment. She’ll obviously love being with Abe, but her recent medical news will put a damper on her night.
