‘Days of Our Lives spoilers share that Dan Gautheir, who recently stepped into the role of Peter Blake on DOOL, recently dished to TV Line about his comeback and what Peter’s return means for the DiMera family.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Peter Has Recently Weighed In On DiMera Enterprises to Support Kristen
For those who aren’t too familiar with the character, Peter Blake is Kristen DiMera’s (Stacey Haiduk) brother and Stefano DiMera’s (Joe Mascolo) adopted son.
He left Salem in 1998, which means that Peter hasn’t been around for decades. However, he apparently still has some sway with DiMera business.
The last time Peter’s involvement with DiMera enterprises was mentioned, it was said that he had weighed in on some DiMera votes to support Kristen, despite not being physically in Salem.
Some fans are wondering whether Peter was the one who trapped the DiMeras in the family crypt. Gauthier teased that fans will be surprised by how Peter “fits into the family this time around.”
Soap viewers may also recognize Dan Gauthier from his former role as Kevin Buchanan on One Life to Live from 2003 to 2010.
Gauthier expressed his excitement to return to the daytime universe and reprise a major role, such as playing a member of the DiMera family.
The actor explained,
“I knew a lot of the actors on the set,” like John Paul Laviosier, who plays Philip Kiriakis, and Stacey Haiduk, who plays his on-screen sister, Kristen DiMera.
He said,
“It was really fun to reconnect with these folks. Everybody was so kind, accepting, and welcoming. Everybody had a great attitude, and it was fun right away. I couldn’t ask for anything better, to be honest with you.”

That said, Gauthier felt a pang of the old nerves for a minute, but the feeling didn’t linger. The fact that the actor was familiar with several of the DOOL actors made the transition much easier.
Gauthier compared his first day on set jitters to the way a student typically feels on the first day of school,
“There’s always nerves. It’s no different than the first day of school, when you’re meeting new people.”
He continued,
“There’s a nervous energy about getting on a new set and feeling it out and what to expect and what happens, but because I’ve been doing it for a long time, I’m kind of used to that.”
He added,
“But certainly, it was probably a little more comfortable knowing I was going to see people that I knew as opposed to not knowing anyone, so that certainly took away a little bit of the nerves.”
Gauthier confessed that he didn’t do much research into the character’s history. He didn’t want the past to affect the current storyline, and his goal is to make Peter Blake’s role his own. The first Peter Blake was played by Jason Brooks from 1993 to 1998.

The scripts in front of him carried more weight than the past as Gauthier elected to stay in the present moment. Gauthier’s approach made it easier for him to put his own unique spin on the character.
Gauthier revealed that Peter immediately steps into DiMera territory and places him squarely in the thick of the DiMera family drama, which includes EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), and Kristen.
Plus, there have been major clues dropped that Peter will soon have a conflict with his sister, Kristen. In the DOOL winter preview, Kristen is seen talking to a man whom we can barely catch a glimpse of. That person is thought to be Peter.
A distraught Kristen is with him in the hospital, and as she’s sobbing hysterically, she tells him she’s sorry. At which point, Peter screams at her to “Get out!”
However, Gauthier is carful not to give away too much information. He said,
“The mystery is kind of the enjoyment of the whole thing.”
We can’t wait to see what Peter is up to this time and find out if he’s the man behind all the DiMera kidnappings. Dan Gauthier’s first airdate is Friday, December 19th.
