‘Days Of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Billy Flynn, who plays Chad DiMera on Days Of Our Lives, is exiting the soap and heading to The Young and The Restless.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Fans Held Out Hope For “Chabby”
This casting shake-up is definitely shocking to Days fans who have been hoping that one day Chad’s true love, Abigail Deveraux (played by Kate Mansi and Marci Miller), would come back from the dead to reclaim her man.
Billy Flynn recently celebrated ten years on Days. In an interview with TV Insider, Flynn expressed his gratitude,
“I am grateful for my years at Days; it changed my life in the best ways,”
He explained.
“I’ve always said these stories we tell are like doing a play, and I’ve spent the last ten-plus years playing this amazing character and telling one of the all-time great love stories. And now I’m excited for this opportunity and to test myself in a new way.”
Flynn started on Days in September 2014 as a daytime newcomer and had his first audition with Kate Mansi, who now plays Kristina Corinthos-Davis on General Hospital.
Apparently, the audition went well, as he was hired almost immediately. Flynn took over playing Stefano DiMera’s (Joe Mascolo) son from Casey Deidrick.
Flynn’s character, Chad DiMera, was paired with Abigail, and they quickly became one of the biggest super couples Days has had in recent years.
The actor thrived on the soap, earning three Daytime Emmy nominations as Outstanding Lead Actor. He also starred with Kate Mansi in the Days spin-off series, Chad & Abby In Paris.

Abigail’s death in 2022 ended Chad and Abby’s fairy-tale romance, and ever since then, Chad has struggled to move on with his life.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: As Days Wished Flynn Well, Y&R Welcomed Him To The Family
Fans have been clamoring for Abigail to return and reunite with her soulmate, Chad. Flynn’s exit cements the end of an era for Days.
Although the role could always be recast However, it won’t be the same without Billy Flynn. His unique brand of charm and the magic he brought to Chad and Abigail’s story, even while he’s still grieving her.
If Chad leaves the soap altogether and isn’t recast, we hope the character isn’t killed off. Chad is an essential fixture in Salem.

Flynn’s scenes with Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) after Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) passed away on Thanksgiving were tremendous.
Flynn’s been a delight to watch on-screen. He has played Chad DiMera with sensitivity and honesty that may not be matched should another actor take his place.
The actor is leaving Days on good terms with the soap. Executive Producer Ken Corday gave Flynn his blessing,
“We support Billy as an actor and friend and wish him nothing but continued success personally and professionally.”
Y&R’s executive producer/head writer, Josh Griffith, said,
“On behalf of the entire company of The Young and The Restless, we look forward to welcoming Billy to the show. He will be a wonderful addition to Y&R’s stellar cast.”
Y&R will be lucky to have Billy Flynn shake things up in Genoa City. His presence on Days and in Salem will truly be missed.
