With the recent release of the docuseries ‘Quiet on the Set’ that details the toxic culture behind the scenes on several Nickelodeon shows during the 1990s and early 2000s.
One of the hardest hitting was Drake Bell’s recount of being sexually assaulted by the network’s dialogue and acting coach Brian Peck.
It’s blown the lid off another part of the industry that’s been taking solid body shots over the last few years with allegations varying from horrific to uncomfortable at best.

‘Days of Our Lives’ and Hallmark star Alison Sweeney has spent a vast majority of her life working in Hollywood, and she recently talked about how her mom protected her from an inappropriate situation.
She sat down for an interview with the Daily Mail, and ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers want to thank KPCnews.com for any excerpts used.
Alison expressed sympathy for the people that shared their stories and how she can see how it could happen and is grateful she doesn’t have a similar story, and that’s thanks to her mom, Polly Sweeney, who saw something she didn’t like.
“I completely have so much compassion… my God, these heartbreaking stories are just devastating and I can see how it could have happened. But I’m just grateful that that’s not my story.”
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Mom to the rescue
“There was one situation, one time where my mom saw something and she was like, ‘We’re leaving right now, we’re not doing that.
“My parents just didn’t allow for that, for me to be exposed to anything inappropriate when I was child, and they never left me alone with anybody, ever, that would have created that kind of opportunity for someone to take advantage. They just didn’t tolerate it.”
She added: “(It’s) really hard to compare the industry (now) to what it was 20 years ago because people are talking about this stuff in a way that was never discussed when I was growing up as a teenager and a young adult in the 90s and 2000s, and obviously before that.”
We’re grateful Alison didn’t experience anything like that first hand and we wish more parents were like her mom, but maybe this is a sign of things to come from stage parents.
A change is obviously needed if the allegations are true, and it’s something that can’t be ignored no matter what company it involves.
