‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers finds that star Camila Banus has a thing or two to say about the Emmys! The stunning actress, who is best known for her role as Gabi Hernandez DiMera, believes that there is a lack of Latina representation, especially when it comes to the daytime television world and the awards that are given out to its stars. Here’s what she has to say.
Camila has been on a hot streak lately. Just last week she didn’t shy away from expressing her thoughts about all of the rumors that suggests ‘Days of Our Lives’ was getting the axe from the NBC network. It turned out that there was nothing to worry about as the daytime television soap just got picked up for its 56thseason.

And now Camila has taken to her Twitter account to express just how upset she is over the fact that there has been no Latina actress in the spotlight for the Daytime Television awards. She wrote to her social media followers, “There has never been a nomination not to mention win for a Hispanic woman in the lead actress category. Think about this, people in the judging panel are the ones that nominate your peers.”
It didn’t take very long for her fans to respond, as some of them commented with, “I feel like it’s more Soaps are too white of an issue than A Daytime Emmy issue but I admit I may be ignorant to this,” along with, “It’s quite sad actually. There is so much bias for these type of awards. But like you said in your interview, you don’t need this to validate you. But I’m still rooting for you.”
Another fan wrote, “All I can say is, Hispanic or not, you have absolutely smashed it. You deserve the award. You have come almost out of nowhere and risen straight to the top. I love what you are saying. Camila Banus ticks every box.”
