Days of Our Lives (DOOL) star Galen Gering (Rafe Hernandez) has seen a lot of action lately for his character in Salem. Not only did he get shot, but he also got into a terrible car accident. He’s also helping Jordan Ridgeway (Chrishell Hartley) out by raising her baby, David! And just to think, this all happened within the course of just a few short months. The actor recently opened up about working with Chrishell and the babies he gets to be with on set every day.

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, Galen said, “She’s awesome. She’s always so fun and ready to go to work. There’s such bright energy to her, which is nice. She’s funny, even though she’s had these ready dour scenes. She’s always a joy to have around, for sure.”

The handsome actor also opened up about working with infants Dexter and Jaxton Ellis. Luckily, it’s been a piece of cake for the actor. He continued, “The babies that we have had have been so easy and agreeable. It’s been crazy. Like, what is with these kids? They are always smiling and are so sweet. When the baby is there, it’s awesome. I wish there was more of that.
I think the important thing in the story, and we talk about it so much, is Rafe and this baby having this relationship. Sometimes we have a baby in a crib that wasn’t a real baby, so basically I am acting with this inanimate object. I feel like when a big part of it is the relationship with a kid that’s not really there, it’s kind of weird.”

It’s a good thing that Galen is so good with kids, right? Now, as far as what’s next for his character Rafe Hernandez remains to be seen. While some people are hoping that he reunites with Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso), others are hoping that he gets a fresh start at love. Needless to say, fans will find out soon enough!
