‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers were waiting for this moment, and it looks like the show’s writers have officially had Eric Brady jump the shark.
We’ve been expecting him and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) to get back together at some point and have it come across as a huge deal despite most fans not wanting the two to get back together.

But more than that, they continued breaking down Eric’s character. Where he was once attempting to be virtuous and do the right thing, he’s shown that he’s incapable of doing that when Nicole is mentioned.
The fact he tried to play off that he would’ve left Sloan Peterson (Jessica Serfaty) for Nicole in a heartbeat had he learned the child was his says it all.
Never mind the fact he and Sloan were and are happy together. He would’ve just tossed their relationship aside like it was meaningless and moved on.
And now it looks like he’s going to try to atone for it.

After Marlena Evans (Diedre Hall) listened to him and questioned him on what he wants, she told him if he’s truly happy and in love with Sloan then his feeling for Nicole will pass.
‘Days of Our Lives’ think getting out of town would work better since they always run into each other, but that’s too simple.
So, to move forward and make up for letting his desire to slip to Marlena, he’s going to ask Sloan if she’ll marry him sooner than they were planning.
We expect her to see through it, especially when she learns Nicole just got married, but she’ll still follow through and hope their love is strong enough.
As for Eric, well, he’ll feel better for the time being.

While Eric may want to actually move on, we know it’s not going to last for long and it’s a shame. For the first time in a while he and Nicole are happy and fun.
They love who they’re with and have the chance to grow their own families and move forward, but that would entail them actually being given the chance to and it’s not going to happen.
It’s a shame because he’s really helped Sloan change and grow, and they’re going to make her into an evil woman for agreeing with Melinda Trask (Tina Huang)’s plan, although it looks like Melinda may guilt/push her into it.
