‘Dancing with the Stars’ Maks Chmerkovskiy has called out his former partner, Kirstie Alley, following her comments about the Russia-Ukraine war.

The two countries have been at war ever since Russia decided to launch an attack, which has killed numerous people, as well as displacing many others to neighboring countries such as Poland and Romania.
While that may be the case, the very fact of the matter is that there are always concerns when it comes to the authenticity of media reports.
And this is something that Kirstie was commenting on when she suggested that it was not possible to speak about this topic, given the nature of misinformation out there.
In a statement at the time, she remarked: “I don’t know what’s real or what is fake in this war. So I won’t be commenting. I’ll pray instead.”
Maks did not take those comments very well and let Kirstie know in no uncertain terms that he was not going to stand for this. After all, he is Ukrainian coupled with the fact that he and his family are currently stuck in the country.
Therefore, by remaining neutral in such a conflict, Maks’ comments seemed to suggest that she was siding with the Russian forces. And to drive home his point, he made an analogy about the time he had helped her during a time of need.
In a statement in response, he said: “I clearly remember being right next to you while you were organizing trucks of aid during Hurricane Sandy and I remember all that you were saying to me about situations where innocent are suffering.
“That same energy is needed right now. No one needs your prayer.” The social media response to Kirstie was very brutal indeed.
A significant proportion of people blasted her and felt her comments were out of touch at a time where people were suffering. One person wrote: “Major side eye to that one.
“She’s nuttier than a snickers candy bar. I’m so hooked on Maksim’s ig right now – checking it multiple times daily. He’s brave to say the least!”
