Coronation Street spoilers have indicated that there could be a setback for Shona Platt and her recovery over the coming weeks. Viewers have watched on as Shona has returned to Weatherfield over the last couple of weeks but has struggled to remember any of her friends in the area.
Shona is still suffering from memory loss after being shot by Derek Milligan. It is still unclear how long this storyline may go on for, but there had been hope last week that Shona’s memory was finally returning. She returned to Weatherfield and was quickly re-introduced to the rest of the Platt family. However, she quickly decided that she felt uncomfortable in the house and left.

After leaving the Platt’s house, Shona bumped into Roy Cropper. She previously worked at the café alongside Roy. She asked Roy whether they knew each other, and he revealed that she was one of his best workers. He offered her the chance to come in for a cup of tea, and Shona immediately felt safer. Later in the episode, David begged Roy to take in Shona so that she can keep living on the street.
Roy agreed, but disaster soon struck when Shona burnt her hands after trying to take out a tray from the oven without any oven mitts. It was a setback, but there was still belief that she would stay with Roy. However, there could now be a twist in the tail according to the latest rumours that have appeared online.
Coronation Street Spoilers: Shona Discharged From Rehab Centre
Spoilers have revealed that Shona will be released from the rehab centre over the coming episodes. The news will quickly spread back to Weatherfield and David Platt is overjoyed at the prospect that they could be about to get their normal life back on track. However, Roy will urge David to be more level headed and not expect any miracles.
There could be a huge setback about to rock David, as there have been rumours that Shona could turn her back on Weatherfield for good and begin a new life somewhere else. Bosses at the soap have already revealed that it will be a testing time for the couple, but admitted that there could still be a happy ending.
