Coronation Street spoilers finds that the Winter family have been rocked over the past couple of weeks after Paul (Pete Ash) finally let them in on the secret that he has been keeping since he was a child. Gemma and Bernie (Dolly-Rose Campbell and Jane Hazelgrove) were left devastated after learning of what Bernie’s boyfriend Kel (Joe Alessi) had done to Paul when he was younger. Paul has since shown his relief that the family unit is closer, but Bernie and Gemma are adamant that Kel needs to feel the wrath of the law for the sexual abuse that Paul suffered when he was a teenager.
Coronation Street Spoilers: Paul Tells The Police
Paul has been undecided about going to the police for the last few weeks, but when Bernie reports the crime, he decides that it is time that he tells the police about what Kel did to him. Over the coming week, Paul will speak to the police about the crime, but when fears set in that Kel may not pay for his actions, she decides to take the law into her own hands. Paul clashes with Sean (Anthony Cotton) next week over the redecorating of the flat before he then decides to come clean about why he is having these mood swings. From the encouragement he gets from his workmates, he decides to proceed with talking to the police. However, he is left upset during that interview when the police are realistic about his chances of a conviction. He relays this information to Bernie, Gemma and Chesney (Sam Aston) and that could have consequences for Kel.
Coronation Street Spoilers: Bernie’s Anger
After hearing Paul claim that Kel may not be convicted on the crime, Bernie is spitting with rage and heads straight to the mall where Kel works to deal with her ex-boyfriend in her own her. She writes ‘paedo’ on the staff noticeboard picture of Kel, but the security guard soon uncovers Bernie. The two have a brawl in the shopping centre before Chesney comes to the aid of his future mother in law. In trying to help Bernie, Chesney knocks Kel’s head off the wall, and as the police come to apprehend the duo, Bernie gets away, leaving Chesney to face the music alone. Later, Paul is angry with his mother for interfering and claims that she may have now jeopardised the case against Kel. We will see over the coming weeks whether Paul forgives his mother and whether Kel will finally have the punishment that his crime deserves.
