Coronation Street Spoilers finds that fans were left shocked last night as to how Geoff Metcalfe’s abuse of Yasmeen Nazie escalated. The double-bill last night was mainly focused on their storyline, and fans were quick to point out how powerful and accurate their story is. Many fans have been critical, but the vast majority are hailing the storytelling and appreciated that it needed to be tough to watch to ensure that the important message of domestic abuse can be understood.
Fans of the soap have seen their relationship change over the past number of months, with Geoff claiming that Yasmeen was an alcoholic, before then taking her credit and debit cards off her. However, last night’s episode went a step further.

Yasmeen offered to step in to help Geoff for his magic show, but the performance didn’t go as they had planned. Geoff became a laughing stock, with the audience hailing the show as a comedy act. The fault of the mishap wasn’t even on Yasmeen, as Geoff didn’t allow for a dress rehearsal, and the plunger that was part of the trick got stuck on Yasmeen’s clothes.
The audience was in hysterics over the act, which meant that Yasmeen thought everything had gone okay. That is, until Geoff turned around and claimed it was all her fault, before calling her a ‘b***h’ on pre-watershed television. Fans were quick to praise the episode for its importance, but claimed it was difficult to watch.

There have been multiple reports about how this storyline may finally end. There have been some reports stating that Yasmeen may eventually kill Geoff so that she can be free, while others are indicating that he has a mystery lover on the side. In the closing scenes last night, Yasmeen is seen visibly scared to go back into the house after being ordered to get fish and chips.
She is approached by Emma, who admits that she was never asked to be part of the show despite Geoff telling Yasmeen that Emma bailed on him. The episode finished with Yasmeen deep in thought; obviously thinking over why Geoff would lie to her. Fans will have to continue watching to see whether she confronts him about Emma’s comments.
