Herschel Walker, a former NFL star and “pro-life” Senate candidate, is accused of paying for a woman’s abortion in 2009. Walker calls the claim “a flat-out lie,” but Walker’s son is now criticizing his father as well.

The woman, who preferred not to be identified publicly “due to privacy concerns,” became pregnant with Walker’s child in 2009, according to The Daily Beast. Shortly after, according to her, Walker allegedly asked her to have an abortion. She informed the outlet that she had actually done it, and Walker had paid for everything.

The woman allegedly gave The Daily Beast a $575 abortion clinic receipt, a “get well” card that Walker allegedly wrote to her, and “a bank deposit receipt that included an image of a signed $700 personal check from Walker,” according to The Daily Beast.

The claims, according to Herschel, are total nonsense. He said as much in a statement released shortly after the publication of the article, “I deny this in the strongest possible terms.” Walker, a Republican running to unseat Sen. Raphael Warnock in Georgia’s midterm elections later this month, called it “disgusting, gutter politics.” He continued, “I’m not taking this anymore. I’m planning to sue the Daily Beast for this defamatory lie.”

Shortly after his father‘s denial, Christian Walker, a conservative, posted a video accusing the 60-year-old of having previously threatened to kill him and his family, among other things. Christian Walker said on his Twitter page,

“I know my mom and I would really appreciate if my father Herschel Walker stopped lying and making a mockery of us. You’re not a ‘family man’ when you left us to bang a bunch of women, threatened to kill us, and had us move over 6 times in 6 months running from your violence.”

Prior to the elections on November 8, Herschel ran on an anti-abortion platform, describing himself as “a proud pro-life Christian” who “will always stand up for our unborn children.”

What do you think? Are these claims true and will it affect Walker’s political run? Let us know in the comments below.
