Samantha Bee is taking a major swipe at Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who has long deemed herself as a know-it-all with her global wellness brand, Goop. According to reports, the comedian dedicated an entire segment of her show, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, to Gwyneth’s Goop empire and how dangerous it is for her to promote unproven and often bizarre treatments for toxins.
Bee began with, “What can seem like innocuous woo from charging your crystals in the moonlight to lighting a candle to ward off Mondays can quickly change into pseudoscience that at best is a waste of money and at worst is dangerous.”

The comedian also pointed out that there are several products in the Goop line that have wild claims about their effectiveness, but without any real scientific backing. Samantha Bee also highlighted the fact that the FDA sometimes puts out loose regulations that allow such companies like Goop to go relatively unchecked when it comes to their effectiveness or even consequences for that matter.
“As long as the product doesn’t claim to mitigate, treat or cure anything, companies don’t have to prove it actually does what it’s advertising,” she explained.
If that weren’t enough, Samantha also noted that there was a woman who suffered from second-degree burns when she tried one of Goop’s vaginal steaming techniques.
Bee added: “Because there’s no legal definition for terms such as ‘clean’ or ‘natural’ those words can mean whatever the f— companies want them to.”
“Mistrust in science in general is the reason why so many people believe masks cause coronavirus and 30% of Americans believe coronavirus was created in a lab. This is a terrible time to consciously uncouple from science,” the comedian said, mocking Paltrow’s statement on her split from ex-husband Chris Martin.
