CNN Anchor Donald Carlton Lemon was heavily criticized for complaining about his job this weekend during remarks he made about the Presidential election. The late night news anchor hinted now that President elect Joe Biden will soon take office, he and his colleagues will no longer be slammed for being a part of the “fake media,” as the current sitting President Donald Trump likes to call it. Here’s what you need to know.
Don said that with Joe Biden now in charge, he’s hoping that all of the attacks that the media has seen on both journalists and journalism will come to an end. Lemon was one of the most outspoken critics of Donald Trump, as he repeatedly declared the president as a “racist” and often attacked his supporters, too.
CNN Anchor Don Lemon Slammed For Complaining About His Job
“I don’t dare speak [for] my colleagues, but I can’t tell you how difficult it’s been as a journalist to cover this dark part of our history,” Lemon tweeted. “Let’s hope the attacks on journalists, journalism and EVERYONE end. Time to move into the light. #America”
Of course, it didn’t take very long for his critics to weigh in on his post, with a lot of people pointing out that he is a journalist and not a soldier at way. Some of the harshest critics came from both Republican politicians and journalist, to name a few.
“Oh you poor thing. Let me forward your tweet to some of my buddies overseas so they can send you some flowers,” Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, reacted.
“Don’t worry, you’re not a journalist,” National Review senior writer David Harsanyi told Lemon.
“You put on make up and read glass on TV for a living, dude. And you are very well paid to do it. Your job is not remotely difficult. Never has been. Never will be. No matter who the president is,” Outkick founder and radio host Clay Travis said.
